The incident came to light on Thursday after few students alleged that they were not allowed to enter the campus of Rishabh Academy Co-Educational English Medium School because they did not have proper haircuts.
Ever since taking over as the chief minister of the country's most populated state, CM Yogi Adityanath has been on a revamp spree.
From shutting down of illegal abattoirs to enforcing anti-romeo squad to keep a check on eve-teasers across the state - Uttar Pradesh seems to be gripped in an array of changes.
However what caught the attention of the people, is a recent unusual diktat from a CBSE affiliated school in Meerut.
According to a Times of India report, students of this school were asked to get haircut like CM Yogi Adityanath with strict no on beards and a blanket prohibition on non-vegetarian food and forced gender segregation to prevent love 'jihad'.
Incidentally, the reason cited for not allowing beards was because the school was 'not a madarssa where people offer namaz', said the report.

"I asked the students to get Yogi-like haircuts, when they were unable to understand what we wanted. We basically want very short haircuts, of the kind the Army gives. Also, the students have been told strictly to not keep beards as this is not a madarssa or a place where they come to offer namaz," Ranjeet Jain secretary of managing committee told Time of India.

The management reportedly said that the school was run by Jain trust, non-vegetarian food even eggs were prohibited. The report also stated that the school practiced enforced gender segregation.
"This is being done for the safety of girls and to prevent love jihad. Muslim boys take on names similar to Hindus, befriend girls, tie 'kalavas' on their wrists and try to woo girls. I cannot tolerate this in school premises. Moreover, these days nobody likes if a boy from one community touches a girl from another community," Jain said.
