ISLAMABAD: Hindu families living in Pakistan's restive Baluchistan province have approached the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, seeking visas and political asylum in India due to growing cases of kidnapping for ransom and target killing of members of their community, the Dawn newspaper reported.

This was revealed by the regional director for the federal ministry of human rights, Saeed Ahmed Khan, at a seminar on "Provincial Conference on Baluchistan Crisis", held in Quetta, the provincial capital.

Khan said that Hindus had been living in Baluchistan for centuries, but in recent weeks several members of the minority community had been kidnapped or murdered, forcing them to seek political asylum in India.

"As many as 27 Hindu families from Baluchistan have sent applications to the Indian embassy for asylum in India," he said.

According to statistics of the ministry of human rights, violation of human rights has been committed at a large scale in Baluchistan and people are being abducted for ransom.

We should be extremely wary of these as some of them are Indian agents in the secret willing to play the role their counter parts played in East-Pakistan. This is just the beginning and might explain a lot about Indian hands in the Baluch insurgency!

Sure as hell there are lot more than 27 hindu families in Baluchistan so such a small number of "victims" out of 39146 does irk some suspicion. Otherwise in Pakistan, seriously nobody gives a crap about your religion. It is not a monolithic society like Saudi Arabia..

Indeed! Indian government is really lenient doing that. GoI is ready to give sitizenship to whole india diaspora living abroad [including mixed indians] if they want to live in india. And indian diaspora is the largest diaspora in the world of 30MILLION!
So, I won't be surprised if GoI grants them citizenships.

Did i tell that the huge community of Hindus around Karachi are dalits arriving illegally from India to escape persecution?? Its our good will that our security apparatus just lets them go after some interrogation and secret services keep an eye to filter our RAW agents but other than that we let them have a chance to survive by all means as much as we can. Many live on selling fresh veges, fruits handicrafts, laborers and domestic helpers.

These people should be immediately accorded citizenship and asylum on the part of the GOI .

It'll be interesting to see what the Pakistani Government 's response to this is. If they agree , it will mean they can no longer guarantee Religious Freedom and minority rights . These incidents prove more and more the extent of affliction Pakistani society suffers from because of Fundamentalism .

It is a fact minorities are persecuted in Pakistan (I can give you tons of links, if you dont believe that) and all I am saying is if they are ready to cross over to India, which they obviously want to, then GoI must give them the citizenship.



And as for the pictures , dont cry next time for Indian Muslims when we post pictures of Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam or a Hamid Ansari or a Azim Premji. Got it. ?

I can count four people in my life time who became Pakistani's by shoddy means..and several more by legal means. So far have not met any Pakistani who had become Indian or wished to become one..if you know anybody please post.
