Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan acknowledged as traitor or not?

Reading around threads both old and new, some members here consider him a hero for afghans. For us there were few people look upon less kindly during or before partition, and rightly so he tried to dismember this land just as we gained independence. but I've read about isolated pockets that think differently and it got me wondering.

I tried searching for common reactions & opinion about him from a cross section of society but no luck. the only similar footage could find was an excerpt from western documentary trying to portray him as saintly figure, so they interviewed mostly afghans and indians.

Just wanted to gauge the perception of Pakistanis regarding Bacha Khan, through a poll. Please only Pak members vote, if our Afghan, Indian brothers could just discuss but refrain from voting as we're cognizant of your views.

Other than born in Charsadda as Pakhtun, has he any connection with Pakistan's vision and purpose, or just hostile dagha baz?

People call him traitor because of pakhtunistan issue but actually his demand of renaming NWFP to pakhtunistan and giving it autonomous status within Pakistan was different from Afghanistan's demand of making NWFP an independent separate country...
They also call him traitor because he wished to be buried in jalalabad, he still would have been called traitor if he was buried in charsada....
He is also called traitor because he was famous as frontier gandhi due to similarity of his movement with gandhi's, both were friends also.
He is also called traitor because he received highest civilian award from government of india.

He is perhaps one of the most controversial figure in Pakistani history......some pakistanis hate him to extreme while others highly respect him......

From Pakistani prospective he was traitor , from pakhtun prospective he was a great social reformer.

Well that must be from afghan Pukhtoons views he was a reformer, i think of him as a misguided fool, trash who had no power, his people shunned him and he died of broken heart.

Afghans will glorify any trash and need i say anything about Indians.

1. He is viewed as traitor because he was AGAINST PAKISTAN. He was NOT a Pakistani hence we dont considerit right to accept him as a hero.

2. He dint do anything for Pukhtuns. Even Afghans do NOT consider him a hero.

I think there will be range of thoughts on the matter of Bacha Khan. Personally for me he opposed violence so in that he is a good person, however he had no love for the Pakistani land. He was born in Charsadda and in his will stated he wanted to be buried in Afghanistan.

By the way Ghani Khan operated a militia. There are reports of this. So the Khudai Khidmatgar movement wasn't all about peace and love as some people wish to portray it.

Dude these are harsh statements from you. This guy is modest and his views are correct. He only thought about his people just Jinnah thought about Muslims in sub continent.

He was Pro-India and you have all the reasons to cheer him.

For us he is not a hero not even the Afghanistanis consider him a hero.

Frankly speaking ANP the political party here in my province run by his grandsons is carrying his name as a liability
