You are very frustrated it seems. Sikhs who visit Pakistan feel at home already in Pakistan. Sikhs who live in India fled genocide just recently and are still.

How can you throw words like These with No sense of self respect?

The brute fact is that sikhs were thrown out of pakistan and their lands occupied. In India they make up majority of a state. During partition they were butchered in punjab and they fled to India.

At that time only independent media were the newspapers as the Radio & PTV (only TV channel) were controlled by the gov’t of the day. I also remember Pakistani print media accusing Aitzaz Ahsan of giving names of the Khalistan leadership to India.

Problem is that no one was present in the meeting between Benazir & Rajiv Gandhi. Hence everything is just speculation. Even though Khalistan movement started losing its momentum from 1989 onwards, I don’t believe that any list existed or was handed over to India.

In the absence of any concrete evidence, I would not accuse BB of giving names to Rajiv. What is correct however is the fact the Benazir was considered a security risk by many among the security establishment? Additionally, Benazir was disliked by all the religious and right-wing parties, hence she was always an easy target.

In my personal opinion, in order to create goodwill with Rajiv, Benazir most probably ordered Pakistan gov’t, to end support; funding or otherwise; to the Khalistan movement.

One must realise that Khalistan movement was essentially a minority movement. To the best of my knowledge, the majority of the Sikhs do not support secession from India. For the record, a Sikh; Zail Singh had been the President of India during 1982 -1987. Khalistan movement probably petered out due to lack of indigenous support.

This current Khalistan movement is not the same as the one in the 80s. The 80s Khalistan movement was heavily militant. This Khalistan movement is purely political. Another thing is that the Sikh diaspora back in the 80s was not that wealthy or organized. This is in stark contrast to the Sikh diaspora right now, which is very affluent, politically active and organized.

Kashmiris should learn from them.

So due to lack of evidence one can say that it's all just a propaganda.

Pakistan has always had excellent relations with Sikh pilgrims. It is only India which blocks those pilgrims, Pakistan has an open policy. Sikh darbars are managed by Sikh Pakistanis.

All while Muslim pilgrims going to India from Pakistan have faced persecution and denial of visas.
