not the same, K1 is arguably better than the M1 which it was based on.
KF-21 isnt even 5th gen as noted by korea itself, with only semi-recessed weapons points. the F-22 would eat it for lunch any day of the week.
but nationalistic fanboys aside, it is pretty good for what it is. certainly better than anything india has done, even though both mostly buys from and relies on external partners.
