The key person behind the Lasbela helicopter propaganda campaign on social media has been tracked down.

Dunya News has obtained a copy of the Joint Investigation Report, which stated that 178 accounts campaigning against the Pakistan Army belong to the country’s largest party, adding that PTI flags were on these accounts.

A total of 2,350 posts were made by 580 accounts, including 18 Indian accounts while reported 123 accounts had their profile pictures.

According to the report, cases will be registered against all the involved elements under PICA and Penal Code of Pakistan, while the involved persons will be brought to their handlers and masterminds after investigation. It should be ascertained through investigation who was issuing instructions to them.

So 2350 posts by 580 accounts.

Just to put this in perspective, there are a total of 3.4 million Twitter users in Pakistan as of early 2022.

That's a whopping 0.017% of the total Twitter user base of the country.

Let's suppose that out of the 3.4 million, only 10% are PTI supporters (very very conservative), that's about 340,000.

Then according to this report, a whopping 0.17% of the total PTI aligned user base on Twitter posted against the incident. This is considering that each of those 580 accounts was actually a PTI account, and not a fake account with a PTI face, or a new account. If we can get data about the engagement metrics of these accounts and their follower count, that will make this whole exercise even more absurd.

I do not have enough time right now, but it would be an interesting exercise to scrape Twitter data with the relevant keywords during those days, and find out the total number of posts that were made to condemn the Lasbela incident, and find out the proportion of these 2350 posts. Perhaps someone else can do it as a nice little project.

This just tells you how absurd this whole exercise is and it's just a witch hunt to somehow put this on PTI and IK.

Saleem Safi and a few other journalists pick out two no name twitter accounts and make those posts mainstream. Had they not retweeted them (or perhaps not been ordered to retweet them), then this issue would have never seen the light of day.

The claims that PTI wanted to make this viral are even more absurd. You really want people to believe that PTI wanted to make this viral with orders directly from IK, but made only 2350 posts? A two bit startup or a small PR campaign by a small agency these days manages to get around 10k unique posts for their viral trends (by just giving 1000 to a teenager). PTI trends consistently get up to 70k (paid ones), while organic ones reach well into the quarter to half million territory, with the most recent one (IK hamari red line) reaching a million.

Anyone who has an iota of common sense can see how much of a stupid exercise this is.

Something is seriously wrong & we are moving towards bigger mess.

Have you noticed many multinational closed down thier operations in Pakistan after regime change?

This is very serious economic challenge.

Why suddenly flying in capital (overseas investment & multinational companies investment) is flying out from this country soon after regime change?

Irrespective of the fact that its was planned regime change or not, irrespective of any political affiliation, fact of the matter is we are losing at economic front in a terrible way. The companies closing thier operations in Pakistan is the signal of a storm and they are moving away from this land to protect themselves.
