Seven injured after security force open fire in Kashmir

Seven people were injured when security forces opened fire to disperse a mob pelting stones on vehicles carrying two Army officers, injured in Pulwama encounter, to Srinagar. Two militants were killed in the encounter, erupted this morning at village Bubgam Ashtan Mohalla in Pulwama district of south Kashmir. A police spokesman said when injured Army personnel were being shifted to Srinagar hospital, a mob attacked the ambulance at Pulwama, by hurling stones. In the retaliatory action by security forces, seven people Mohammad Yaseen Bhat, Ashiq Ahmad, Jahangir Ahmed, Gowhar Ahmad, Imran Bhat, Showkat Mir and Younis Mir were injured. He said six injured were admitted to SMHS hospital while one was referred to Bone and Joints hospital here. However, the injured, including four of a same family, admitted in the SMHS hospital contested the claim of the police and said that a stray bullet hit one of them when encounter between militants and security forces started at 0230 hrs. They said when the injured was being shifted to Srinagar, security forces at Pulwama chowk allegedly resorted to indiscriminate firing on their vehicles, injuring others. They said there was no procession or any demonstration as it was dead in the night. "We do not know if there was any demonstration in Pulwama today against this incident, they said." Serves them right as they deserved this punishment for attacking Army Vehicle.

Latest Update:The policeman injured in this stone pelting is out of danger and stable and will be released shortly acc. to doctors in the hospital he is admitted.
