Its just another vsdoc account (to stir up division and hate so every party in India basically has some form of extreme Shiv Sena mindset). Pay it no mind.

Back on subject, this JDS - Congress alliance will have very bad consequences for both of them in 2019. All that voted BJP will vote again for them in 2019 (base preservation) + all those JDS/congress people that hate each other will either not turnout for Pappu-dom or will switch vote even.

It probably would have been bad for BJP to form a govt in KA this time if they did not have outright majority (for similar reasons)...so they dodged a bullet imo.
Should i say “win-win situation” for all or “grapes are sour”?

A logical person needs to question his faith.
Problem is a Hindu does not find any answers. When he does, he leaves Hinduism. From sati to caste apartheid, there is nothing an enlightened man can get.
Muslims get their doubts cleared and find a bigger purpose in our Deen.
That is the difference.

This is why Hindus find out congregations intimidating. They see their hollow faith as opposed to our disciplined serenity and belief.
Every religion has its flaws.
The concept of religion is a flaw in itself. Hindu or muslim.
To see the “truth” , u need a stable n able mind, not a clergyman to tell u what to do n what not.

@AfrazulMandal s a rabid dog indeed. His faith makes him one. When they are not blowing themselves up they catch rabies and infect fellow brother
Now i m sure that u were bitten by one.
Get well soon.

Should i say “win-win situation” for all or “grapes are sour”?

You can watch 2019 for yourself. Have you even been to Karnataka...esp rural areas? Lot of JDS traditional supporters absolutely hate congress....they didnt vote to see an alliance with congress (they were promised there wouldn't be one).

A section of the Karnataka Congress is believed to have suggested having two deputy chief ministers from the party.

Senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ashok Gehlot and the Karnataka in charge, K.C. Venugopal, met Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Monday to brief him on the developments on government formation in Karnataka.

This was ahead of Karnataka chief minister-designate H.D. Kumaraswamy's meeting Mr. Gandhi to invite him for his swearing-in ceremony on Wednesday.

"We have met the Congress president and briefed him on the developments. Mr. Kumaraswamy will meet Rahulji later in the day," Mr. Azad told reporters after meeting Mr Gandhi.

Though Mr. Azad didn't specify the details of government formation, a section of the Karnataka Congress is believed to have suggested having two deputy chief ministers from the party. Party's Dalit face G. Parameshwar is the frontrunner.

There is also a demand for the position to be given to a Lingayat leader.

Asked if the Congress-JD(S) are still together, Mr. Azad said, "We have all the 117 MLAs with us and we will meet in due course and get the Speaker elected.

Earlier in the day, the chief minister-designate meets BSP chief Mayawati

Janata Dal (Secular) leader and Karnataka chief minister-designate H.D. Kumaraswamy on Monday met Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and discussed the power-sharing arrangement in the State.

Mr. Kumaraswamy's first stop, however, was BSP chief Mayawati's residence. Senior BSP leaders Satish Chandra Misra and Danish Ali were present during the meeting.

Sources in the BSP said the two leaders discussed the shape of the Congress-JD (S) cabinet and the possibility of sole BSP MLA N Mahesh getting a berth. The BSP and the JD(S) have a pre-poll alliance in the state.

During their over half-an-hour meeting, Mr. Kumaraswamy also invited Ms. Mayawati for the oath taking ceremony of the new council of ministers.

The sources said the discussions between the two largely revolved around the role regional parties could play to stop the BJP from returning to power in the next Lok Sabha polls.

Two deputy CMs issue
In a brief interaction with journalists after the meeting with the Congress leaders, Mr. Kumaraswamy was questioned about the possibility of two deputy chief ministers. He said the announcement would be made on Tuesday. He also indicated that "more than one person will be sworn in on Wednesday."

The JD(S) leader had indicated that there won’t be a rotational arrangement with the Congress for the post of chief minister.

Mr. Kumaraswamy is scheduled to take oath as Chief Minister on May 23 and the floor test is expected to happen within 24 hours. Both the Congress and JD(S) MLAs will remain confined to their hotels till the floor test.

In a Facebook post in Kannada, Mr. Hebbar on Monday questions the authenticity of the audio clip, saying his wife did not receive any such call.

In a development that could leave the Congress red-faced, its Karnataka MLA, Shivaram Hebbar, on Monday dismissed an audio clip released by the party to allege that the BJP offered money and ministerial berth to him for cross-voting during the floor test in the Assembly.

The Congress had released three audio tapes in the run-up to the floor test, claiming that the BJP leaders were trying to ‘poach’ on the party MLAs by offering ‘blandishments’ so that the B.S. Yeddyurappa government is saved.

One of the audio tapes released by the party had a conversation allegedly between Mr. Hebbar’s wife and BJP leaders, who allegedly offered money and ministerial post to ''woo him to vote for the BJP.''

In the audio tape in question, Mr. Yeddyurappa’s son B.Y. Vijayendra and his close associate B.J. Puttuswamy purportedly speak to Mr. Hebbar’s wife, offering money and ministerial position to her husband if he cross-voted in favour of the BJP during the floor test.

However, in a Facebook post in Kannada, Mr. Hebbar on Monday questioned the authenticity of the audio clip, saying his wife did not receive any such call.

“This is not my wife’s voice and she has not received any such calls. The audio tape is fake. I condemn it,” he wrote.

State Congress sticks to its stand
Reacting to Mr. Hebbar's statement, State Congress spokesman V.S. Ugrappa demanded that Mr. Vijayendra and Mr. Puttuswamy undergo forensic voice test for their alleged involvement.

“The audio clip released to the media is genuine, not fake. Yes, our legislator is correct when he says, it is not his wife’s voice, but the voices of Vijayendra and Puttuswamy are genuine. If these leaders have guts, they should undergo forensic voice test,” he told reporters in Bengaluru.

The Karnataka polls threw up a hung Assembly, with the BJP emerging as the single largest party, but eight short of majority. Governor Vajubhai Vala invited the BJP to form a government and Mr. Yeddyurappa was sworn in as chief minister.

As the floor test approached, the Congress alleged that the BJP was indulging in horse-trading and released the audio tapes to back their charges.

In the audio tape in question, Mr. Puttuswamy allegedly says that cases against the wife and the son, who are facing a trial in a mining scam, would be cleared.

Speaking to reporters, Congress general secretary B.K. Hari Prasad said, “the Congress believes in truth.”

“We should appreciate the stand of Shivaram Hebbar who calls a spade a spade. He comes out with the truth. He is not like the BJP people. When he [Hebbar] says that [it is a fake audio], we accept that with all humility. Nothing wrong in that.”

Karnataka: Kumaraswamy promises stable govt; Sonia, Rahul to attend swearing-in ceremony

In his meeting with the Congress leaders Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, Kumaraswamy discussed the issue of Cabinet formation and the division of ministerial positions between the two parties.

Karnataka JD(S) chief H D Kumaraswamy, who is all set to take oath as the Karnataka chief minister, met alliance partners and Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi on Monday evening. The meeting was aimed at finalising the modalities of government formation and ministerial berth sharing between the post-poll allies, JD(S) and Congress. Kumaraswamy, who will be sworn in as the chief minister of Karnataka on May 23, also met his pre-poll ally BSP chief Mayawati, whose party bagged one seat in the state.

In his meeting with the Congress leaders Sonia and Rahul, Kumaraswamy discussed the issue of Cabinet formation and the division of ministerial positions between the two parties. Congress is known to have suggested the idea of two deputy chief minister’s for the numerically strong party in order to strike a balance with the JD(S). However, the latter is believed to be against this proposal. KPCC chief G Parameshwara is among the potential candidates for the deputy chief minister’s post.

Following the 20-minute long meeting, which took place at Rahul Gandhi’s Tughlak Lane residence, Kumaraswamy said that he has invited Sonia and Rahul Gandhi for the swearing-in ceremony in Bengaluru. “I wanted to show my respect and regards to Gandhi family. That’s why I came here. I requested them further presence in oath taking ceremony. Both of them agreed to be present at the oath-taking ceremony,” ANI quoted him saying. AICC in-charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal was also present at the meeting.

Ahead of the meeting, Kumaraswamy spoke to media. “There is no bargain. We will cordially work out things. We must work together. I am here to take their(Congress leaders) advice,” he said. He further assured that the JD(S)-Congress alliance will give a stable government in the state. “We are going to give a stable government. All these issues are not yet discussed. We have not discussed any future course of action,” said the JD(S) leader.

Kumaraswamy is expected to face the floor test in the state Assembly, within 24 hours of being sworn in. The MLAs of both the alliance partners, JD(S) and Congress, meanwhile, will stay confined to their hotels till the floor test, PTI reported.

Karnataka assembly polls, held on May 12, threw up a fractured verdict, with the BJP emerged as the single-largest party in the Karnataka polls winning 104 seats. However, the saffron party fell short of a simple majority. Kumaraswamy staked claim to the government immediately after BJP’s B S Yeddyurappa announced his resignation. He met Governor Vajubhai Vala on Saturday evening who invited the coalition to form the government in the state.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president G Parameshwara, expressing his apprehensions about the difficulties that lie ahead of the coalition government in the state, said, “I do understand the sentiments of many people that we should not have gone with the JD(S). But there was a need to stop the BJP from coming to power again in Karnataka. Keeping this in mind, our seniors took a decision to support the JD(S). We all must accept their decision,” he said.

“We may see difficult times ahead. We are visualising the challenges ahead, but we need to bear all the hardship to build a strong party,” the KPCC chief said.

Meanwhile, BJP chief Amit Shah, justifying the party’s bid to form the government in Karnataka, said it would have been against the mandate of the southern state if they had not done it. “The mandate given by people of Karnataka was against Congress. There was no confusion about it. If we had not staked claim to form govt, it would have been against the mandate of Karnataka’s people,” Shah said while addressing a press conference in party office in New Delhi.

Shah also asked the Congress to explain to the people of Karnataka why they were celebrating even when most of their ministers had lost the election. “Only Congress and JD(S) are celebrating, people of Karnataka are not (celebrating),” he told reporters.

Taking a swipe at the rival party, Shah said the Congress has found a new way of portraying defeat as its victory, adding that he hopes this new definition of victory continues till 2019 as it will benefit the BJP.

Taking a dig at the proposed government being called an unholy alliance, he said there was no such thing as holy or unholy in politics.

Karnataka chief minister-designate H.D. Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said that there are no rumblings of discontent over Cabinet formation, as the stakeholders are yet to deliberate on the issue.

Media reports on Cabinet formation are not realistic, he told reporters after visiting the Manjunatheshwara temple at Dharmasthala.

Referring to coastal Karnataka’s concern over the Yettinahole river water diversion project, Mr. Kumaraswamy said he would not allow malpractices in the name of water diversion project.

His family believed in the Almighty since the beginning and they believed that his government was being formed with the Almighty’s blessings. He prayed for divine intervention to fulfil people’s expectations from the government and for good rains resulting in flourishing agriculture, and he did not have anything to seek for personal benefit, he said.

Promises stable govt. for 5 years
There would be a stable government for the next five years and his government would introduce welfare programmes without burdening the common man with additional taxes, he said.

Taking a dig at the proposed government being called an unholy alliance, he said there was no such thing as holy or unholy in politics. The government would survive if it had the required number of legislators, he noted.

Referring to incidents of clashes in coastal Karnataka, Mr. Kumaraswamy said minor incidents were leading into clashes, which was not good for society. The younger generation should focus on their future instead of getting involved in clashes, Mr. Kumaraswamy said, adding that if they had any problem, they could contact him for their resolution.

Mr. Kumaraswamy, who arrived in Dharmasthala by a helicopter, was welcomed by Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Heggade before he and his wife Anitha Kumaraswamy had a darshan of Lord Manjunatheshwara. Later, he left for to Sringeri.

last thing i know is that those "enemies" came together to deter god's party.

They can achieve stuff short term...long term they suck at...and we will see it. JDS voters (esp any remaining lingayat on that side) are already voicing their frustration and anger at this big time....given congress in its attempt to polarise very unwisely labelled them as non-hindu.

Just remember what was engineered in Bihar as well over time with even a pre-poll alliance....and this is a shaky post poll one. Something will give, its just matter of time.

Congress will get 22 Cabinet berths, and Janata Dal (S) 12

After eight days of political upheaval in Karnataka, Janata Dal (Secular) Legislature Party leader H.D. Kumaraswamy will be sworn in as Chief Minister on Wednesday, pending formation of a full-fledged Ministry and allocation of portfolios.

Meanwhile, after several rounds of meetings and consultations during the last week, an understanding was reached on sharing of berths in the Ministry between the Congress and the JD(S). With the size of the Ministry fixed at 34, the Congress will get 22 berths, including that of Deputy Chief Minister, while the JD(S) will get 12, including the Chief Minister.

On Wednesday, Governor Vajubhai Vala will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Kumaraswamy on the steps of the Vidhana Soudha at 4.30 p.m., in the presence of a galaxy of national leaders who are in the forefront of an effort to form a united non-BJP coalition.

Mr. Kumaraswamy, 58, will be sworn in as the Chief Minister for the second time. He was the Chief Minister for 20 months in the JD(S)-BJP coalition government during 2006-07. G. Parameshwara, 67, the Dalit face of the dominant partner Congress, will also be sworn in on Wednesday. He will be the Deputy Chief Minister.

K.C. Venugopal, who is AICC General Secretary in charge of Karnataka, said that given that the Congress number (78) in the Assembly is double that of the JD(S) (36), the Congress will get the Speaker’s post, while the Deputy Speaker’s slot will go to the JD(S).

Thirty two Ministers and portfolio allocation will be decided after the floor test of the coalition government likely to be held on Thursday or Friday.

There are 221 elected members in the Assembly and the coalition partners have 117 members, including one from the BSP and two independents.

The Ministry expansion and allocation of portfolios will be delayed since both parties have decided to take into account factors such as caste, region, experience, service to the party and age, for giving ministerial berths.

The Congress-JD(S) have also reached an understanding on the formation of the coordination committee comprising members of both parties to evolve a common minimum programme.

“Within one or two days the coordination committee too will be announced,” Mr. Venugopal said.

Besides former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda, prominent leaders, including Congress president Rahul Gandhi, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Chief Ministers of Kerala, Odisha, Delhi, West Bengal and Puducherry are expected to participate in the swearing-in ceremony.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to observe Wednesday as black day, arguing that the formation of the JD(S)-Congress government is a subversion of the people’s mandate.

Kumaraswamy says his prayers are for divine grace on his new government

Chief Minister-designate H.D. Kumaraswamy has been visiting various temples in the State and outside ever since B.S. Yeddyurappa resigned on Saturday and his own chances of making it to the post became clear.

In the six months preceding the Assembly elections, Mr. Kumaraswamy and in particular his father and JD(S) supremo H.D. Deve Gowda left virtually no prayer or ritual alone for the electoral success of the party — from visiting temples and mutts, to meeting pontiffs and performing pujas and yagnas. However, to close observers of Karnataka politics, it comes as no surprise.

In January 2018, Mr. Deve Gowda performed the Ati Rudra Maha Yaga — lasting 11 days and considered as the highest such vedic ritual, at the Sri Sharada Peetham in Sringeri. Sources in the JD(S) argued that “it was this yaga that catapulted the party to the forefront of power in Karnataka and Mr. Kumaraswamy to becoming the Chief Minister.” Even on Tuesday, the senior and junior Gowdas visited Sringeri to take part in another havan called the Nava Chandika Yaga and sought the blessings of the Sringeri mutt seer. And from Sringeri, he touched the Manjunatha temple in Dharmasthala.

Mr. Kumaraswamy launched his election campaign, called Kumara Parva, from Chamundeshwari temple in Mysuru. As if in answer to his invocation, party veteran G.T. Deve Gowda humbled State Congress leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Chamundeshwari constituency with a huge margin of around 30,000 votes. Even as the results were pouring in of a hung verdict, the Congress, with more seats in its kitty, extended unconditional support to the JD(S) and offered the Chief Minister’s post to him. Soon after Mr. Yeddyurappa resigned in the face of a majority deficit, Mr. Kumaraswamy visited the Adichunchanagiri Mutt in Vijayanagar in the city and sought the blessings of its head Nirmalanandanatha Swami on Saturday.

On the same day, Mr. Deve Gowda conducted a yaga at his residence and left for Tirumala to offer prayers to its deity Venkateshwara.

With the Governor inviting him to take oath as the 30th Chief Minister, Mr. Kumaraswamy along with his wife Anitha dashed to the Ranganatha temple in Srirangam in Tamil Nadu.

On Monday, the JD(S) State president visited Lakshmi Narasimha and Shiva temples in his hometown Holenarsipur. His elder brother and Holenarsipur MLA H.D. Revanna accompanied him.

The Gowda family is known to leave nothing to chance. And so, on the sage advice of his big brother, a few rituals to invoke good luck were conducted on the footsteps of the Vidhana Soudha, where Mr. Kumaraswamy is scheduled to take oath as Chief Minister on Wednesday.

Admitting that he is a firm believer in rituals and prayers, just as his father and the rest of his family, Mr. Kumaraswamy said his prayers were for divine grace on his new government as it had to fulfil people’s aspirations. They were also for good rains and bountiful harvest for the State’s farmers, and nothing for personal gain, he emphasised. He is set to visit Chamundeshwari temple on Wednesday morning.

Opposition leaders pose for photojournalists in Bengaluru after Kumaraswamy was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.(ANI)
HD Kumaraswamy was on Wednesday sworn in as the Chief Minister of a Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress party coalition government in Karnataka on Wednesday. Opposition leaders from across India used the occasion for a show of strength and solidarity in the run-up to general elections in 2019.

Governor Vajubhai Vala administered the oath of office to Kumaraswamy, the state’s 25th Chief Minister, at 4.30 p.m. on the grand steps of the state Secretariat in the presence of national and regional leaders from across the country.

Congress leader G Parameshwara took oath as the deputy chief minister. Both the leaders took oath in Kannada in the name of god, farmers and the people of the southern state. Other members of the council of ministers will be inducted after Kumaraswamy takes a trust vote on Friday.

Kumarawasmy said in a press conference after the ceremony that his Congress-JD(S) coalition government will work better than a single party government. He also announced that he would waive loans taken by farmers in Karnataka.

Kumaraswamy said the presence of leaders from all over country heralded a major change in the political situation in 2019. “They were not here to protect this government... this government will be protected by local Congress leaders and our JD(S) leaders,” he said .

A galaxy of national and regional leaders and Chief Ministers of some non-BJP states from across the country turned up for the ceremony. They held hands and posed for a photograph on the dais at the forecourt of the Vidhan Saudha in Bengaluru, the venue for the ceremony.

Among the prominent political leaders present on the huge dais were UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, BSP leader Mayawati, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, expelled Janata Dal (United) President Sharad Yadav, Communist Party of India-Marxist General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, NCP leader Sharad Pawar and RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly.

Chief Ministers Mamata Bannerjee (West Bengal), N. Chandrababu Naidu (Andhra Pradesh) and Pinarayi Vijayan (Kerala) were also present at the 10-minute swearing-in ceremony.

““Parties from all over India stand with you. May this be the first step towards ensuring BJP and RSS don’t steal elections,” Yechury said while tweeting his congratulations to Kumaraswamy.

Thousands of JD(S) and Congress workers and supporters from across the state, especially the Mysuru region thronged the venue braving the rain.

The BJP boycotted the ceremony and observed a “Black Day” during which it held statewide protests against the new coalition government. BJP state chief B S Yeddyurappa condemned the coalition government as “an opportunistic alliance.”

But Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Rajnath Singh tweeted their congratulations to Kumaraswamy and Parameshwara.

Shortly before the 4.30 p.m. schedule for the swearing in, former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda was the first to reach the venue after which leaders and Chief Ministers from various parties trooped in.

Sonia and Rahul Gandhi came together and both were seen talking animatedly with Mayawati. Mayawati and Sonia Gandhi held each other’s arms as Rahul watched them. Then it was the turn of Mamata Banerjee to approach Mayawati.

Ahead of the event, Banerjee and Naidu said that their participation in the ceremony was to strengthen the coming together of regional parties and they would not allow any obstacles to come in the way of these efforts.

New CM says this will herald a new beginning in the national political scenario
H.D. Kumaraswamy was sworn in as the 30th Chief Minister of Karnataka on a rainy Wednesday evening, with a galaxy of national and regional leaders in attendance in a show of non-BJP opposition unity ahead of Lok Sabha polls. G. Parameshwara, who is to be the Deputy Chief Minister, was also sworn in on the grand steps of Vidhana Soudha.

The stage is now set for a floor test of the JDS-Congress coalition government on May 25. Leaders who attended the event included the former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and current president Rahul Gandhi; West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee; Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan; Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu; Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal; BSP leader Mayawati; SP leader Akhilesh Yadav; CPI leader D. Raja, and CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, among others.

Later in the day, they had an informal meeting with JD(S) national president H.D. Deve Gowda, who oversaw the coming together of these leaders. This is the first coming together of all these regional party leaders, alongside the Congress and the Left.

‘Model coalition’
Speaking at a press conference soon after the swearing in, Mr. Kumaraswamy said, “The formation of this government marks a new beginning in the national political scenario ahead of 2019.”

He described himself as a “child of circumstances” who had become the Chief Minister of a State in a larger national context of the need to “rein in the Ashwamedha horse” let loose by the BJP.

He promised a stable government for five years and said the alliance would set a model for others to follow.

“The onus is now on me to live up to their [the leaders assembled] expectations and provide a concrete base for future coalition of anti-BJP forces in the days to come,” said Mr. Kumaraswamy, adding that there was a need to set aside personal aspirations for the greater cause of protecting the country from communal forces.

Mr. Kumaraswamy also touched upon many State issues in his maiden press meet, including his poll promise of loan waiver.

He said he had “a blueprint ready” for loan waver, but added that he cannot now take individual decision since he is part of an alliance. He said that the Congress’s good programmes would be carried forward and the coalition partner taken into confidence.

Karnataka is seeing the second swearing-in ceremony of a Chief Minister in less than a week, after BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa resigned on Saturday opting out of a floor test in the Assembly. The Congress and the JD(S) cobbled together an alliance after the State saw a hung verdict on May 15. Of the State’s 34 ministries, 22 would go to the Congress and 12, including the post of the Chief Minister, will be with the JD(S).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Mr. Kumaraswamy on his assumption of office as Chief Minister.
