Let me guess. The story is about some Pakistani girl falling in love with an Indian guy?
Yes, hes from India Kashmir and shes from Pakistan Kashmir. They made tunnels underground to finally marry each other after many Skype calls.

That would make little difference to anyone who is having sushi if they never knew that the Japanese hated raw fish.
Wilful ignorance. Practice it or preach it, defines the character of people and a nation.
Exactly. Similar to horse meat ban in the US (till 2007). Just like the Japanese don't apologize for their habits, so don't the Chinese (especially the Cantonese) for theirs. Nor should any self respecting civilization. If a people allows foreigners to define the 'character of people and a nation', their own nation - suffice it to say that nation is enslaved, a football to other's opinions.

Long story short, it should (and would) make no difference to Indians either. The rest of the world will get used to it. And those not driven by ideological (religious) hate can even appreciate it.

Pakistanis don't say "Adaab" and don't do that weird gesture to greet each other, all my Indian friends I have known thought Pakistanis greet like that and eat "butter chicken" , this shows how less our Indian neighbours know about us. That greeting gesture is probably part of Indian muslim culture , Pakistan's culture is significantly different from that which exists among Indian muslims !!! And btw Pakistanis dont eat that orange coloured butter chicken, I am from Lahore the first time i heard about it was when i went to Canada as a student !!!

Lmfao! I was bewildered when I saw this, never knew where it came from, as Pakistan's ethnic groups don't do this. Then I saw it done by an Indian Muslim family and they told me it was standard among people from there.

As for this film, trust me Pakistanis will flock to see this, remember that Veer Zara? I'm afraid the public don't quite chime with the PDF sentiment. :nono:

So in other words, if a nation wilfully practices infanticide and rape even knowing the evils of it; they should be praised for being that way?
Or if they disguise every critique under "oh they hate us" or some other tangential excuse, that too is praiseworthy?

What nation does that?

No. But how one people see or try to define another may often show their character. :)

So if one people try to be wilfully ignorant of another and gladly proclaim it that way; what does it speak of their character?

What nation does that?
A hypothetical one, but as suggested; one that is "proud of their character" which is a sign of "respect" .

Why would it? Sites like PDF and IDF attract a niche group of people.

As @Oscar said most people in India and Pakistan are unconcerned about the other.

There is a huge potential to be exploited by a working relationship between our two countries as we have similar demographics and common linguistics platforms such as English and Hindi/Urdu but that would require maturity and a touch of empathy for the viewpoint of other side which is sorely lacking and likely the gulf will continue to increase unless we become alien.

Film Industries and Cricket still form a bridge though which we can understand each other and in current scenario we should be appreciative of what little we have got in terms of connection.
