Batmannow ....................... May I suggest the perfect solution to the gangsters in Karachi might be spot of 'Hawai Firing'?

I am following from your suggestion from another thread, that 'Hawai Firing' would scare off the Americans.

So by extention of that logic I thought if 'Hawai Firing' can work against America, surely it should work against Karachi gangsters?

SHC orders Sindh to hold LG polls in 90 days

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday directed the Sindh government to hold the local government elections within 90 days and ordered the Election Commission to announce the schedule for the elections.
*
The SHC gave these orders on the petition of former district Nazims, Nasir Hussain Shah and Dr Raheela Magsi. The counsel for the petitioners, Shabbir Shah, said the people's right to franchise by forming local governments was being denied due to the prolonged delay in the local government elections.
*
The counsel said each provincial government was duty-bound to establish a local government system and devolve political, administrative and financial responsibilities and authorities to elected representatives of the local government. "The non-holding of the local government polls is a violation of articles 32, 140-A, 17(2) and 2-A," he added.
*
Sindh Law Officer Shafi Mohammad Memon requested the court to adjourn the case as the Supreme Court had already taken up the matter. He said the requirements for the elections, including delimitation of talukas, districts and computerised voters' lists, were yet to be made.
*
The Sindh government had earlier submitted in January that the local government elections could not be held due to flooding and poor law and order situation in the province. The comments filed by the chief secretary in the petition stated that the Sindh Assembly had passed the Act 2010 introducingSection 179-A regarding the local government elections and appointment of administrators. He said the assembly decided to enact a new law on the pattern of old Sindh Local Government Ordinance 1979 after coordination with other provinces and the election would be held under the new rules and regulations.
*
The SHC division bench, led by Justice Faisal Arab, observed that the holding of local government elections was the constitutional requirement of the government and Election Commission. The court allowed the petition through the short order, for reasons to be recorded later, and directed the Election Commission to announce the schedule for the local government elections.

ANP, Haqiqi say polls in Karachi ‘impossible’

*ANP, Haqiqi say polls in Karachi
*
Karachi
*
The Awami National Party (ANP) and the Mohajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-Haqiqi) stressed on Friday that conducting local bodies’ (LB) elections in Karachi was impossible, given the prevailing law and order situation and serious discrepancies in the electoral rolls.
*
Their statements came in reaction to a Sindh High Court (SHC) ruling which had directed that the LB elections be held within 90 days.
*
When asked about the SHC directive, ANP leader Rana Gul Afridi said: “The Supreme Court of Pakistan’s decisions regarding the elimination of no-ho areas, improvement of law and order and arrest of target killers have not yet been implemented by the government. Holding polls in the city is impossible until these objectives have been achieved.”
*
He said that the coalition partners had not yet agreed on any system of local governance.
*
“Given the circumstances, the ANP doesn’t believe that holding any type of elections in the province — especially in Karachi — is possible, as it would only further aggravate the law and order situation.”
*
The Mohajir Qaumi Movement also expressed its doubts over the possibility of the local bodies’ elections, pointing out that the federal and provincial governments of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had not implemented a single court order.
*
“Though the SHC has asked the government to hold these polls with 90 days, it should be noted that the PPP has never held LB elections while in power,” noted Vice Chairman MQM-H Shamshad Ghauri.
*
He claimed that the SHC order would ultimately benefit the MQM, which, he said, had been calling for the LB polls in an attempt to strengthen its control over Karachi and its resources.
*
Ghauri demanded that law and order be improved and the voters’ lists rectified before local bodies’ elections were held, as this would guarantee “a level playing field for all political parties.”
*
Conversely, the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) welcomed the SHC directive; however, it also demanded improvement in law and order and the preparation of flawless voter lists before the polls.
*
The party’s chief in Karachi, Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, also asked the government and the election commission to ensure that the voters’ lists were purged of all mistakes so that people could vote freely.
*well, you can check, MQM (mutahida) has wellcomed, the deceion , So I, guss it is going to become a major, voilence booster, in comming days in karachi?
All parties, who can't win, any election in karachi, they will going, to do anything to stop MQM , giving itS basic power back? Even by voilence & killings, to delay LB polls, in karachi, because kite has never flowen in their way?

Abducted neurosurgeon killed in police recovery*operation

Mohammad Hussain Khan | DAWN.COM | 10 mins ago
HYDERABAD: Noted neurosurgeon Dr Aftab Qureshi, who was abducted from Karachi on May 12, 2012, was gunned down on Wednesday in an exchange of fire after police conducted a raid on his captor’s house in Qasimabad area early morning.
The encounter — supervised by Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and Karachi’s Anti Violence Crime Unit (AVCU) – also led to killing of the captor, the Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of AVCU and injuries to another policeman.

Two other hostages, Dr Ashok and his mother Kamla escaped taking advantage of the encounter.*They were kidnapped from Karachi’s Memon Goth area. They were taken to CIA centre Hyderabad for interrogation.
Dr Qureshi’s body was taken to his native town Kandiaro in upper Sindh.
“I have to see whether standard operating procedures (SOP) of police whereby a police party of another district needs to take concerned police on board was followed…yes it is a requirement of the law but I need to verify it whether it was done,” DIG Sanaullah Abbasi told Dawn.com outside Civil Hospital.
CPLC chief Ahmed Chinoy defended the police action, saying right from Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Crime (Karachi) Manzoor Mughal to Inspector General Police (IGP) Sindh Mushtaq Shah were on board.
“Qureshi was gunned down by the captor who was drunk,” Chinoy said quoting Dr Ashok.
Even Hyderabad’s police control was informed about the arrival of the AVCU, he said.
In fact, the lone captor-cum-kidnapper, who was later identified as Mohammad Akhtar, a resident of Usta Mohammad, Balochistan, was killed by a policeman from the Qasimabad police station, Chinoy said.
The DIG termed it a failure of the Hyderabad police who he said could not spot the location where Dr Qureshi was held hostage for 15 days.
“Of course, it is the Hyderabad police’s failure…why they didn’t have any information regarding the hideout of the captor,” the DIG said.
Enraged doctors, paramedics, nurses and hospital employees boycotted work in the Civil Hospital soon after Qureshi’s body arrived.
Work remained suspended in the outpatient department (OPD), wards and casualty wards by doctors on the call of PMA general secretary Dr Hadi Bux Jatoi.
Before being kidnapped, Dr Qureshi had recovered from a major intestinal illness. He had gone into coma and was on life support drugs when abducted.
