Good test case for PTI to ascertain it's new found support and the ability of establishment to rig the next election.

This was perhaps the only seat in Karachi where MQM won comfortably in 2018 elections. Its Korangi area. Runners up was TLP and PTI came third.

2018 elections result:
MQM = 61K
TLP = 30K
PTI 29K
So, if bielections are held today, than MQM is more likely to retain the seat albeit with the thin margin.

Anyways, if PTI turncoats are deseated/disqualified in 30-50 days than stooge Showbaaz Sharif will definately be in trouble. After MQM MNA death, his number now stands at 173 that is just 2 more. PTI is playing their cards by keeping Alvi as President.

President Alvi will create lots of headache for this imported Govt moving ahead since they don't have the 2-3rd number of combined assemblies and Senate to impeached the President. Two major upcoming headaches will be :

1) President may not sign any law passed in the NA or Senate. Eventually bill will be cleared but President may delay it by 2 months (at maximum). So President Alvi can create some speed breakers for electoral reforms like cancelation of votes for overseas Pakistanis or use of EVMs. Who knows in those 2 months, stooge SS govt falls.

2) Calls PM to take vote confidence from the parliament where PM has to show 172 number to remain as PM. At the moment, he is on 173 after MQM MNA's death. MQM/BNP/PTM are more likely candidates to ditch this coalition govt as well if their demands are not met fully. Also it depends how quickly PTI and establishment relations are sorted out.

will not matter now since the case filed against them was earlier when the clause was there. Proceedings against the case has started and it will take few days for SC to disqualify them. Lets see if they can be disqualified for life or not. Anyways even if SC will only gonna give their advise and decision will be made by ECP only but what SC gonna say now will be most likely be followed by the ECP because the case was soughted by the President of the country. ECP may take further a month or so to disqualify them after SC decision.

The spanner in the works is that people have come out on the streets and there has been a populist response. Frankly, this was never part of the play. And it represents fundamental risks for said playbook.
