Operation 021 booed off the screens in Bambino and Capri

KARACHI: Everything is not going according to plan for the producers of Operation 021, especially at Bambino and Capri cinema in Karachi. The much hyped up Shaan-starrer espionage film received an unexpectedly dull response at the two cinemas as the audience created ruckus during the film, resulting in 021’s early exit from these cinemas.

“The response was awful; people threw bottles at the screen and even harassed the management for wasting their money,” Adeel Siddiqi, the owner of Bambino cinema, told The Express Tribune.

“The crowd was going out of control and I am glad that no damage was done to our property, we controlled the situation in time,” he added.

As a result of this response, the owners of Bambino have removed all shows of Operation 021 and are playing Hrithik Roshan’s Bang Bang and Na Maloom Afraad instead.

“We have to think of our interests first and our interest is the audience’s interest. If they don’t want to see, then we don’t want to play it,” said Siddiqi.

On the other hand, Operation 021 faced a similar fate in Capri cinema where the film was taken off after one hour of its first running. Sources told The Express Tribune that even the staff at Capri was harassed by the audience with ‘hamary paisay wapas karo’ attitude.

Even Capri is now playing Na Maloom Afraad and Bang Bang instead. Operation 021 was released on the first day of Eid with Capri and Bambino among the very few single screens playing this film in Sindh.

What culture? Karachi is the largest city of Pakistan. It is a melting pot of cultures and ethnicities it includes Urdu Speaking people, Pushtun, Sindhi, Baluchi, Punjabi, Kashmiris, Seraiki, Bengalis, Burmese immigrants, Tajiks, Afghans, African community and God known how many more residing in Karachi illegally. So Karachi has no one culture. If you ghate Karachi because the people decide to vote for MQM then shame on you.

I am personally 100% sure that this event has been staged by opponents of Shaan because he is a patroitic and nationalist pakistani actor from lahore.

What does Karachi's culture have to do with this???
idiotic title

This movie is screening all over pakistan without any problems since yesterday and suddenly we see news coming out of karachi that "people" in karachi didn't like this movie because it is for "educated" audience only. So does this mean karachi is inhabited mostly by "uneducated" people. Why no such incident has been reported anywhere in punjab or other parts of pakistan, could it be that people living outside karachi are more "educated" than the ones living in karachi.

Dude Karachi has the best culture in Pakistan. If you inspect the developed world you will see that their way of life is oriented for maximizing productivity. Karachi is the place in pakistan that comes closet to having a way of life that maximizes productivity. If you wonder how pakistanis will look working hard and efficiently then you can come to karachi.
