The government has decided to complete the much-awaited Karachi Circular Railways for Karachi by mid-2023.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar chaired a progress review meeting of the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) project.

Secretary Railway, CEO PPP Authority and senior officials participated in the meeting.

It was informed in the meeting that work has started on various phases of KCR project and timely completion of each phase will be ensured. The Ministry of Railways is also constantly in touch with the Sindh Government and work on underpasses at various places is expected to start soon.

Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar directed Pakistan Railways to formulate a system of public-private partnership for the third phase of KCR project. He said that Karachi Circular Railway is an important project; it will not only provide modern transport facilities to the people of Karachi but it will also be a very attractive project for investment.

It was decided in the meeting that necessary steps will be taken immediately to involve the private sector in the project. This process will be completed within the current financial year and work on the third phase will be ensured.

Further, the Public Private Partnership Authority will provide necessary full cooperation and assistance to the Ministry of Railways in this regard.

Actually it can. The project is being given FWO. It's a joint calibration between FWO and sindh transport. All major civil parts, like bridge and underpass will be FWO, and sindh transport will do the rest.

i have heard federal govt will intitiate its own projects and they will ask sindh govt to initiate its own sepratly ... so we will see progress on green line , K4, circular railway, sewerage projects, solid waste as well as road projects KPT will play a big role this time along with other departments

if funding is provided then best case scenario is 2025 assuming the follow the same feasibility project that was conducted and dont change the design

KPK they already have in the bag with full health insurance, BRT, Rescue 1122 and local bodies system.

They have made great headway in South Punjab province by establishing secretariat which will be functional from October. Before elections they will pass a bill from Punjab assembly to formally make the province. They are also providing health facilities to the area for the first time. PTI will extend their lead in South Punjab in 2023.

If the Karachi Transformation Plan materializes then PTI might even extend their tally of 14 seats from Karachi.
This now leaves interior Sindh. I hope PTI employ every dirty trick in the book to get rid of PPP from there. Would need establishment on board as well. Otherwise Sindhis will vote for PPP for 500 years.

Central Punjab will as usual go to PML-N. Can't do much about that. Baluchistan has its own dynamics and doesn't really participate at the national level.

Whether this project will be completed or not, many bungalows in interior Sindh and abroad will be completed. Many new cars will be purchased, and many ppp politicians and ppp officers will be billionaires.

I personally think that it will be a ping pong or complain box. As sind government approach is anti Karachi. We need to develop this city for our country to produce more resources instead of make this fruitful tree dead We Pakistani need to wakeup. That many of our countrymen bread butter is belongs to this city. The Administrator(s) of Karachi not belongs from Karachi, I dont expect the result oriented job for any administrator who don't know the dynamic(s) of this city or who don't belong this city.
