Kabul protester: Ashraf Ghani supports Taliban, is criminal & a ethnic nationalist

I think ISAF is going to make an overnight pull out of Afghanistan.
P.S: @pakistani342 why there is no hush hush in corridors of oval office about Afghanistan?

what is the thinking today that leads to the loud silence on Afghanistan? ... difficult to say ...

I suspect the silence can be attributed to:
1. The realization that it is beyond even herculean to transform a primitive, poor society such as Afghanistan
2. The West was naive when it entered Afghanistan but now collective memory has caught up: people realize this is a deeply traumatized primitive society which is beyond help
3. Further if the Afghans themselves are feeing for better pastures to the West, why should Western boys and girls go and fight in Afghanistan
4. Add to that the non-subtle complications of Afghanistan/Pakistan hostility, India/Pakistan competition, Iran/US hostility, Afghanistan being landlocked

But somehow I think even trump can't pull out from Afghanistan ..I think things will be more messy as hekmatyar will join hands with karzai and Ghani and the northern leaders will need to get together ..
By the way how's your study on China going on ? Any thread coming soon ?

.
One small note -- the other day I showed this video to a friend of mine who served in Afghanistan and is pretty sympathetic to Afghanistan and blames Pakistan a lot.

I showed him the protest video and asked him:
1. How many of these rich and socially mobile Afghans served in Afghanistan [while he was dodging bullets on the frontline]?
2. How many of these rich and socially mobile Afghans took lucrative US funded jobs and enriched themselves and ran back to their homes in Lorton, Ashburn as the last call rang out at the Kabubble party?
3. How many of these Afghans (or this families) sought refuge in Pakistan? Ever heard a word of thanks from them?
4. How many monuments are there in Kabul to thank the Americans for building them a country?

He didn't say anything for a long time.

Yes, Afghanistan seems to be in a violent spiral -- to say the situation is gloomy is an understatement.

Hey what is this new rumours about u. s appointing dark prince of backwater not only for Iran but also to deal with Afghanistan. Prince was of the view that Afghanistan must be treated as east India company, while u. s colonize Afghanistan they would take the underground wealth of Afghanistan as a payment ...
We must be aware of the development of the region, after all black water penetrated our society and with some money they bought an extensive network and our leaders to track Osama Bin Laden.
For my guts tell me that the quietness of Trump administration is the quietness before strom. They would devise some policy which would be totally against Pakistan. Pakistan must have to play their part well. In Afghanistan peace is not possible for some time. Even if peace comes, things are too destroyed that it would take a lot of time to get hold.... Look at Iran how they deal with this mess, even talk to the Taliban and treat them, even give them hideouts but there borders are shut and they have peace in their home.

mmm I think these are two separate issues:

1. Erik Prince is the founder of Blackwater -- he penned an article supporting Afghanistan should be run (paraphrasing here) like East India Company ran British India -- needless to he say drew a lot of criticism from mainstream American Intellectuals (even right leaning intellectuals). Note: Eik Prince is on the far far right and in no way representers mainstream American opinion -- The MacArthur Model for Afghanistan

2. Dark Prince -- is a reference to Michael D’Andrea -- he is a senior and legendary CIA official -- An American-Muslim -- who was the real brains in finding and killing BinLaden [if I remember correctly]. He's been now handed the Iran Desk so to speak -- C.I.A. Names the ‘Dark Prince’ to Run Iran Operations, Signaling a Tougher Stance

Now on what my personal assessment is -- BlackWater is a very controversial organization but that is due to their ham handed methods used in conflict zones.

On Blackwater penetrating Pakistani society -- I'm sorry this is the realm of conspiracy theories. The Muslims world is the Muslims worlds worst enemy.

To see what how dangerous American help/cooperation has been see the totally wracked countries (sarcasm) of: South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Germany, China ...

The problems in the Muslim world: Syria, Pakistan, Iraq are problems of imagination, primitiveness, unchecked power given to religious goons -- they are not America or the West's doing.
