Just How Big Is China? Bigger Than You Think

I don't know how Forbes made such a basic mistake, our GDP is now $8.3 trillion, not $7.5 trillion.
$7.5 trillion is indeed a confusing number. Chinese GDP in 2011 was $7.3 trillion so that can't be right either. Can't believe this is printed on Forbes.

edit: it is a blog like article, so much more understandable now.

why would US do that? Can you give the US merchants a better deal or what?

US imported more than $425 billion of goods from China, while Vietnam's total GDP in 2012 was less than $140 billion. You don't even have the ability to manufacture enough goods for US to consider a switch, let alone any advantage for US to actually make such a switch, so stop wishful thinking that US should buy more from Vietnam, and certainly stop begging US merchants not to buy from China.

America should begin to reduce imports from China and buy more from Vietnam.

Lol relax...I said reducing some imports from China, and increasing buying from cheaper sources such as Vietnam. Why? Vietnam offers cheaper labor cost.

Let take Nike footwear. Last year 2012, contract factories in Vietnam made about 41 percent of Nike brand footwear, up from 39 percent the previous year; China, 32 percent, down from 33 percent. Vietnam now is the leading producer of Nike footwear.

You need to wake up after the smoke clears, or simply stop being ignorant.

The top 2 categories US imports from China each year are electrical device and machinery, both categories are above $100 billion. while the top 2 categories from Vietnam each year are knit apparel(about $4 billion) and woven apparel (about $3 billion), and the total amount of goods from Vietnam is less than $20 billion. Besides, the amount of footwear US imports from China is more than the total imports from Vietnam. Do you still think that China and Vietnam are in direct competition?

China has moved up on the ladder and you are not even in the next few lower leagues, and you feel good about it. I understand inferior complex sometimes would make a person size of a peanut talk big, but trust me, it will only make people laugh. Your delusion of Vietnamese competition to the Chinese manufacturing is nothing more like statistical errors that can be ignored.
