It's simple for me. I don't care about religion or different sects of Islam. If it makes Pakistan powerful and poor Pakistanis have more money and a better quality of life, it's all good. If not, to hell with it. The Pakistani nation, population and Pakistani blood means everything to me and is most sacred. I really don't care whether you lived there the fact is there's a law that prevents people from insulting Ataturk. So when the state is actively putting people in prison for insulting Ataturk you think that anyone with a grievance towards him actually puts that above their own personal freedom and their families who would likely be affected by them being put in prison?

Even Turkish historians are being put in prison for discussing Ataturk in a negative light.

Don't get me wrong that's their choice but why do you think people aren't blaspheming in Pakistan? There are laws against it and those who do wind up dead or in court.

All I'm saying is (and I'm paraphrasing what my Turkish friends say)...Pakistanis are nobody to speak for Turkey as to whether Ataturk was good or bad or whether they should revert to some imaginary neo Ottoman empire.


Many Pakistanis on PDF (and on the internet at large) feel they can dictate to other Muslim countries what they should do and what their best interests are under some mystical united Ummah diktat. Don't believe me? Go to the UAE-Israel and Morocco-Israel normalization thread on PDF. It's full of Pakistani smart alecs dictating to the Emiratis and Moroccans how this act will destroy them and how their kings are evil for doing this. Even though the Emiratis like @Abu Dhabi and Moroccans like @Alithemoor1 are prefectly fine with the normalization. I think the people of Emirates, Morocco, Turkey and elsewhere are perfectly capable of making their own decisions.
