Jubeir: 'Very, Very Strong Reaction' if Iran Closed Strait of Hormuz

Iran has created a grave situation and jeopardized global oil supplies with its aggressive behavior, Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir said on Thursday, adding that the Kingdom was consulting with allies on next steps.

"I think the situation is very grave because of the aggressive behavior of Iran," Jubeir told reporters in London.

If Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, it would generate a “very, very strong reaction,” he warned.

"When you interfere with international shipping it has an impact on the supply of energy, it has an impact on the price of oil which has an impact on the world economy. It essentially affects almost every person on the globe,” Jubeir added.

That's why it would be stupid to do so. It would get the public against Iran, there is no reason to do so. I have been against the idea from the first mention of the idea.

Iran gets 400 nukes and the result is... the world does not care (except some warmongering neo-cons). Getting nukes would prevent war, prevent the world from hating Iran, and is a bargaining chip to stop sanctions.

Closing down the straits is more volatile than getting 400 nukes. War will come if Iran does not get nukes. Once hypersonic maneuvering missiles come on line next year, Iran will get a war it does not want. Getting nukes beforehand is the smart decision. To prevent the plans of the neo-cons, Iran must get nukes, soon.

Iran is reacting to aggressive policy of american and violation of all int. agreements which undoubtedly has escalated the situation to the point of clash .. consequently it's them and their regional pawns to blame and ought to learn to behave rationally ... we didn't send our drones/boats to the american airspace .. we are not in their region threatening them with war ...

Saudi exports 5 times more oil than Iran and thus are much more important to global economy. You f*ck with that and you are bound to find trouble.
