LAHORE, Jan 12: The Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf has made a conditional offer to the PML-N for making joint efforts for the removal of the PPP government.

Party Chairman Imran Khan told the media here on Thursday his party was ready to talk to the PML-N provided its MPs resigned from the elected houses.

PTI senior vice-president Ijaz Chaudhry told Dawn the party would discuss various offers of talks and its strategy in its central executive council meeting scheduled for Saturday (tomorrow).

Mr Chaudhry said there were no two opinions and all the opposition parties would be and should be unanimous on the Option No 6 given by the Supreme Court the other day to the government for taking recourse to the electorate.

However, he said, the parties should demonstrate their sincerity with the early polls by saying goodbye to the present houses.

Earlier, speaking at a press conference and at a ceremony, where many former MPAs joined his party, Mr Khan said themasses would distribute sweets on the `political martyrdom` of the government which was just focusing on how to protect its wealth collected through `corrupt practices and plunder` Those who joined the party included ex-ministers Aleem Khan and Irshad Sethi, ex-MNA Riffat Kahloon, ex-MPAs Shoaib Siddiqui, Mansha Sandhu, Iftikhar Bhangu, Chaudhry Talib and Mian Asghar.

PTI`s central leaders Ijaz Chaudhry, Khursheed Kasuri, Jehangir Tareen, Punjab president Ahsan Rashid and Lahore vice-president Asif Bashir were also present.

Imran Khan said the government was left with only one option to come out of the present crisis: writing to Swiss courts as directed by the Supreme Court and immediately announcing an interim setup for holding transparent and fair elections.

He said the PTI would not become part of the interim government. He warned if the PPP-led coalition government attempted to assault the judiciary, the PTI along with like-minded parties would come on roads to resist the move.

Ruling out talks with the PML-N and the JUI-F without resignation by their MPs from assemblies, he alleged both Nawaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman were proficient in political summersaults and could not be trusted.

He recalled that Mr Sharif had twice deceived them first by violating the defunct All-Party Democratic Movement (APDM) decision of boycotting the 2008 polls and then ending the long march without taking onboard other parties.

He said the PML-N on the one hand was declaring the present government corrupt and demanding immediate polls to get rid of the rulers and on the other it was protecting the present assemblies.

He questioned if the PML-N wanted dissolution of the present assemblies, why its MPs were not resigning from their seats.

He said all those parties that took part in the `NROed` 2008 polls were also responsible for the present situation in the country.

Nawaz is worse than Zardari. He wants to weaken the army and have a visa-free open border with hindustan that can be an easy route for RAW agents to operate inside Pakistan.

We can't afford to have Nawaz anywhere in government when Pakistan is facing numerous threats at the moment.

Pakistan is in one of the worst positions it has ever been, today. And you have the balls to say that Zardari is actually better than someone?

At least we have a strong army who can protect our borders and fight foreign sponsored terrorists. At least our eastern border is secure. Nawaz wants to get rid of even that. Nawaz is going to invite all the enemies from our eastern neighboring country to bleed Pakistan more than its already bleeding.

Only the enemies of Pakistan would want Nawaz to be leading the country.

Since his 2007 return from exile in Saudi Arabia, he has been a consistent advocate of building good relations with India. He has talked of “visa-free” travel between the two countries and the importance of building trade relations.

As expected, another point scoring diatribe from IK against PMLN, it shows just how insecure he feels about his political posture at this point in time, when military intervention is out of question due to vibrant media and rock hard judiciary the only way remains to oust this government is through parliamentary maneuverings and negotiations which his party is not a part….sadly.

Therefore, for you its necessary to pull down PMLN on the floor by hook or by crock as well like you are (PTI) at this moment, so that the media focus, limelight shifted in this game of bringing down the government episode from solely PMLN & Associates towards the inclusion of PTI as well and stage sets not in the parliament which you are not a part of but on the streets of Pakistan. LOL!!

Dear IK, why you needs PMLN support on the streets of Pakistan??? Why can’t your tsunami do it this task by itself?? Hunh….?...I have an idea for you….before gathering your tsunami in Islamabad first try it in Lahore in front of PA….….you will learn your stature very well and very quick..!!! Just gives it a try..!!

Why his focus and energies is only targeting PMLN?? Who is actually behinds him..??
Many of my own friends who support PTI throughout are just wondering on these questions now-a-days seriously…Ya I’m not point scoring…!!

Bcz it seems currently, IK has left with no serious line of attack against PMLN, and by repeating the same posture and means again and again will not suffice in coming weeks and months, it make you boring in public……so kindly indulge in more serious introspection and come again.!!!

Not weaken but limit, with due respect, if politicians blame army for being uncontrollable, they are partly telling the truth. Military have a significant role in all aspect of policymaking, something which the politicians and civil beurocracy resists. I mean if we are talking about defence policy and military being involved, it makes sense since they are a stakeholder. But when we are talking about Foreign Policy, Economic policy and even trade policy it does not make any sense that Military should be involved in this. Let me be very clear, a major can't necessarily be a good administrator. At times, even Chairman PCB was appointed from military (Mushi Era). Nawaz has had a bitter experience with military in Kargil, Just look at abbotabad enquiry, lets just assume for a moment that zardari was not aware (or even if he was), who was responsible for securing our geographic border? Zardari or Nawaz? But the enquiry lingers to date with no developments, not a single responsible identified. Even in a recent APC when Nawaz sought clarification from Army Chief on whether american claims were correct, the JI leaders went bizzar. The dilemma with our politicians and military is that the severe lack of trust on both sides. The politicians are not willing to come forward to help Military because they have fears in their mind that military may have been keeping them in dark and thus don't want to get embarraced in the end. On the other hand militay is not willing to trust politicians with stretegic issues, thus leading to involvement in the affair which lie in the domain of politics. Unless there is not a sense of mutual trust, the clash of military and civilian government will remain in place, no matter be it PPP,PMLN or PTI

^ Army are Pakistani nationalists and will always work for the interests of Pakistan.

We know about all these politicians. If it wasn't for Army, they would've sold the country a long time ago.

Hummm...well why do we often find most of the top brass living in US after their retirements?
We know all about the politicians, but unfortunately we dont know all about military as well?

It doesn't matter where they spent most of their lives. Quaid-e-Azam spent most of his life in UK. Overseas Pakistanis are very patriotic people, they send millions of dollars/pounds to their country.

With all the threats we are facing in Pakistan, we need a die-hard Pakistani nationalist to rule the country who will put Pakistan before his wealth and everything else. Other than Imran Khan I don't see any other politician doing that. I believe Nawaz is in the same league as Altaf Hussein. Nawaz called Pakistan a failed state and wants visa-free open border with a country that hates our very existence. It will be the end of Pakistan if he becomes leader.

Pakistan is going through numerous external and internal threats at the moment. Only Pakistan army and Imran Khan can tackle those threats.
