How would I know? India Economic Advisory Council has predicted Indian growth rate to be 6.7%, while some Independent bodies have predicted to be as low as 5.5%.

Wrong again.

According to the BBC Country Rating polls (and the Pew Global Research polls).... China is viewed more positively worldwide than BOTH the EU and the USA.

And needless to say, all three are ranked FAR above India.

Your maths is bad. Firstly, dollars are not worth the same today as they were in 2004, nowhere close.

Secondly, check the GDP ratios through time:

1990 - China GDP : India GDP - 1 : 1
2000 - China GDP : India GDP - 2 : 1
2010 - China GDP : India GDP - 4 : 1

So in fact the gap is WIDENING every day, which makes sense. Since we have a much larger base economy ($7.3 trillion) and are also growing much faster in percentage terms. And India is now slowing down to 5.3% growth as well.

Hell, even the USA growing at only 1% a year (with a $15 trillion economy) adds more to its economy every year than India does.

if u have any brain, then the US economy should be 50 trilion if it had continued to grow at the levels of 60s/70s forever. Chinese economy is to slow down as it grows. IT IS NOT A QUESTION OF IF. IT WILL.

China will surely slow down. Now it will be upto India to move ahead. It will be UPTO India whether to cash in on the opportunity or not. China WONT have any say in it. But China slowdown is inevitable.

Ok as if your economy has not slowed down? and come back to me when China is posting 10%+ growth for 5 years and India is posting 5/6% for those 5 years. Right now its a slowdown for all economies.

We will see in another one decade what happens.

So come back when INDIA is unable to grow fast for 5 years and CHINA is jumping. Right now that's not the case.
