BAY OF BENGAL - U.S. and Bangladesh sailors completed the at-sea portion of the first ever Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Bangladesh, Sept. 23. The guided missile destroyer USS Kidd (DDG 100), the guided missile frigate USS Ford (FFG 54) and mine countermeasures ship USS Defender (MCM 2) participated in exercises at sea with the Bangladesh Navy Ships (BNS) Bangabandhu (F 25), BNS Bijoy (F 35) and BNS Sangu (P 713). The exercises included flashing light signaling drills, subject matter expert exchanges, divisional tactics for ships movements, a Bangladesh navy Special Warfare and a Diving Salvage (SWADS) Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) boarding of Ford. The at-sea period culminated with a mock naval battle between two surface action groups (SAGs), each composed of U.S. and Bangladesh ships. "The SAG vs. SAG underway was a highlight for the Bangladesh Navy, it was a highlight for the U.S. Navy," said Capt. William Lovely, deputy commodore, Task Group 73.1. "Two SAG's are competing against each other, trying to kill each other and it became a very competitive event that was very, very special to the group." U.S. and Bangladesh crew members were invited to participate in the at-sea period aboard each others ships. Increasing immersion and opportunities to see how the two navies operate. "Most beneficial was the sharing of knowledge," said Bangladesh navy Lt. Rahman Saif, a rider aboard USS Ford. "I learned much by seeing the operation of a helicopter aboard an American vessel." "As the [Bangladesh navy] commanding officers and I talked; this [CARAT] is about coming to a scene of need and knowing what each other are thinking," said Lovely. "I think it [the at-sea phase] was invaluable." CARAT Bangladesh began Sept. 18 and is the first dedicated naval exercise between the U.S. and Bangladesh, and represents a milestone between the two countries. Events ashore include professional military exchanges in medical and humanitarian assistance; diving training; ship tours; various symposiums and friendship-building events such as cultural tours, receptions and sporting events. CARAT 2011 is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance force readiness between the U.S. and partner nations.

Hizb ut-Tahrir organized protest meetings outside various mosques today in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet against US naval exercise in the Bay of Bengal. Last Sunday (19 September, 2011) the US Navy begun its eight day long security exercise termed 'CARAT' (Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training).

The speakers at the protest meetings said that the United States is an enemy state and called upon the Muslims to raise their voice against US domination over the Muslim Army of Bangladesh. America considers Bangladesh's strategic location as vital to her regional plan. This naval exercise and other so-called security cooperation are nothing less than a malicious design by America to subjugate the Muslims so that she can implement her strategic design for the region. Here is what Moriarty said in a cable to Washington on 19 January, 2010: "Increasing Bangladesh's naval capabilities and US Navy-Bangladesh Navy interoperability for joint operations is a key US goal. Improving Bangladesh's maritime domain awareness and interoperability will enhance US ability to secure freedom of navigation in the strategic sea lines of communication within the Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal."

On top of that we are witnessing how America is relentless in her crusade against the rise of Islam in the world including this region. Thus American presence in the region is part of her design to delay the re-establishment of the Khilafah in Bangladesh, Pakistan or Indonesia where the call for Khilafah by Hizb ut-Tahrir has gained strong support among the people and the party is close to achieving its goal. America knows very well that the return of the Khilafah would be the beginning of her end – the end of her crusade against the Muslims and her dominion in the world.

The speakers called upon the Muslims to protest against the government's subservience to America; and to work for the re-establishment of the Khilafah. They urged the people of power to refuse to cooperate with the colonialist political and military officials. If the American enemy is not stopped immediately and decisively she will achieve an upper hand and inflict great harm upon the Ummah.

Allah سبحانه وتعالى warned the Muslims,

إِنْ يَثْقَفُوكُمْ يَكُونُوا لَكُمْ أَعْدَاءً وَيَبْسُطُوا إِلَيْكُمْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ وَأَلْسِنَتَهُمْ بِالسُّوءِ وَوَدُّوا لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ

"Should they gain the upper hand over you, they would behave to you as enemies, and stretch forth their hands and their tongues against you with evil, and they desire that you should disbelieve." [Surah Al-Mumtahanah: 2]

Honestly very few armies provide their soldiers with specialist kits, gloves, and shades etc.

The American soldier has all this and to make a point I.e. USA,USA,USA

They think they own the world and so in battle they want to fight in style lol

But isn’t it surprising? That with all their gadgets and goody goodies their morale is the lowest
in the developed world!

U.S. Army Pacific Partners With Bangladesh Armed Forces (concludes)

The U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) and the Bangladesh Armed Forces concluded their second annual Pacific Resilience Disaster Response Exercise & Exchange (DREE) in Dhaka. The four day event, led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Civil-Military Emergency Preparedness (CMEP) program, fostered security cooperation and best practices in responding to and recovering from a catastrophic earthquake. Over 130 participants from 35 different organizations participated in the DREE. They brought together civilian and military representatives across all aspects of government and non-government organizations providing a comprehensive medium to work together towards achieving common emergency preparedness, response, and recovery goals. The program emphasized security cooperation, civil-military integration, and the impact of foreign humanitarian assistance on emergency response. It used procedures, techniques, and a variety of Bangladesh and U.S. Subject Matter Experts to share humanitarian assistance/disaster response capabilities, knowledge, and lessons learned. In addition, the event featured three unique Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) activities focused on medical, logistics, and civil-military operations.

In his opening remarks, U.S. Charge d'Affaires Nicholas Dean said, "The DREE is an effort to better prepare and enhance collaboration between the Bangladesh Armed Forces and the U.S. Army Pacific in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief. Programs like this strengthen our partnership and ensure we are ready to respond in times of crisis." The DREE consisted of panel sessions, roundtable discussions, and a practical exercise centered on an earthquake affecting Bangladesh. "The exercise was a great interactive opportunity for all of the participants. The lessons learned from this experience can be incorporated into our existing disaster response plans," said LTC Mohammmad Tawhid-Ul-Islam, Bangladesh Armed Forces Division.

The May 2011 Regional Earthquake Response Seminar, hosted by the U.S. Embassy and Armed Forces Division, informed the theme of this event, "Developing U.S. – Bangladesh Disaster Response Interoperability from Port of Entry to Point of Impact." All participants held in-depth discussions on how to quickly move humanitarian aid from a variety of Bangladesh's ports of entry, such as Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, to areas that could be the epicenter of a major seismic event. "After last week's earthquake in the Sikkim region, this event was timely and beneficial.

Participants were able to build interpersonal relationships, and I feel we are better prepared to respond to an earthquake in South Asia," stated LTC Brady Crosier, U.S. Army Pacific. The event's closing ceremony included speeches by Major General Raymond Rees from the Oregon National Guard and Lieutenant General Abdul Wadud from the Bangladesh Armed Forces.
