JKLF chief Yasin Malik to hold hunger strike at Jantar Mantar

NEW DELHI: JKLF chief Yasin Malik who was released on April 15 from a 35-day house arrest will be holding a 48-hour hunger strike at the Jantar Mantar here from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. Malik is here to seek support from the civil society in the rest of the country (outside if Kashmir) for his causes.
"We are here to ensure that our voices are heard by the Centre and also to register as part of the civil society in the rest of the country, which played such an important part in the 1994 cease fire that helped many militant groups to take the peaceful path," Malik told TOI, on Tuesday.

There are three main demands that Malik is here with and they include justice for the 32 people who have recently been sentenced for life imprisonment in Kashmir over 2012 and 2013, for being involved in cases of militancy that date back to before 1994, when the ceasefire was declared and those like Malik's JKLF laid down their arms and moved into non-violent movement even as they continued to be considered separatist activists in the Valley. The second plea that Malik will be making is to ask the Centre to return the body of Parliament attack accused Afzal Guru, who was hanged in Tihar jail and buried there, to his family in Kashmir.

Malik's third reason for the hunger strike protest is in demand for justice for the families of those three people killed in the Machhil sector of north Kashmir by the Army. When it was later found that the three men were killed in fake encounters, by the Army personnel in the border area, the Army men were suspended and charged with murder. While their trials are going on, their families have complained of being harassed by the Army. Some of the harassed family members have traveled to Delhi with Malik and will be protesting with him at Jantar Mantar, to seek reief and justuce from the government and also to seek support of the mainstream civil society in the country, for their cause.

One advice to this malik... Be careful here in delhi

Kisi kashmiri pandit me mooh kala kar diya to kashmir me bhi mooh dekhane ke layak nahi rahega....

Its a good idea to seek support from civil society. Some of the wrongdoings by govt/forces in J&K is unknown to rest of India, and they support the govt version instinctively.
If we dont want to lose J&K we should treat them as part of us, by showing solidarity with them when the demand is justified.

These separatists should be sent behind bars. Inke mooh nahi lagna chahiye.

Now that jumped up b***h Arundhati will also come to his aid

Lets hope he dies. Inshallah.

why do you want that? He is an Indian citizen exercising his rights in a peaceful manner. Also JKLF was a secular separatist organization, different from regular islamic terrorist. They have been willing to sit and talk with govt many times.

Agreed. JKLF want independance for Kashmir. Independant Kashmir is the way to go forward.

I dont support Independent kashmir, but he surely has right to influence rest of Indians, and create public opinion which will help his cause. He is doing it in peaceful way which is the way forward for other separatists.

Because he stands for truth. Truth never dies.

How old are you kid ?

When you will grow up and be matured enough to realize the difference between true and false, white and black, then probably you will understand that truth is a nothing but a matter of perspective, yes it is....
At one point of time the Ottoman empire did what is known as the Armenian Holocaust. They perceived that their actions were right, that it was the truth, but now most of the civilized World,as we see it,condemns it.Its just that people have different perspectives.

What matters is ,"what is beneficial to the people?"

Political unrests are detrimental to growth, development and peace. At the end of the day, people like Yasin Malik will not achieve anything, for him to achieve anything he needs people's support in a much much greater scale. He will only cause some chaos and get some youngster killed probably.

So,talk about anything you may like, but dont talk foolishly that this is the truth and all that.Just talk about what your perspective is.
