Not really,the official payload as per PAC site was 8000lb,now with the addition of 3000lb.

A more realistic figure for new Payload would be 5000Kgs.
I never understood the use of imperial figures in aviation. What a farce.
Anyway, it would be interesting to know which hardpoints get the additional capacity? Since the two wing tips were limited to carrying only the IR missiles, so that actually leaves around 4,800Kgs to be distributed over 5 hard points.

I believe it has been mentioned in one of the interviews that if required, it can carry SD-10 on multiple ejector racks. However, we have not seen any testing of that as such. Maybe they want to fully operationalize SD10 itself first, and then go for MERs. SD10 is a new missile, jf-17 is a new plane. Both need time for testing. Once you are 100% confident in SD-10 and JF-17, dual ejection racks would be really a happy birthday cake.

@narcon , that old text is nearly a decade old, when the prototypes were born.
The percent of contribution that the article mentions doesn't apply now.
It not a 50-50 thing anymore.
