Its sad that each & every thread about our cruise missiles get derailed by arrival of brahmos.But if sometimes indian members do a favour to us of not bringing brahmos our Pakistani members take their job & instead of a fruitfull discussion about our missiles we have to waste our energies on cleaning their PR affected minds :hitwall:

actually i brought in barhamos . i just wanted to know if barhmos range is greater why is pakistan opting for low range missle i am sorry for that really sorry

. . .
but bahamos has a range of 290 km but c-802 is 180 km

it can be more of a short range missile for close in encounters once babur navel variant comes up then the range of brahmos ll count for s**t and if ever a ship gets too close a stealthy c802 assassin ll do the job..my 2 cents

The Yakhont-type antiship missile is designed to combat naval surface-ship groupings and single ships under heavy fire and electronic counteraction.

The missile is noted for:
- over-the-horizon range;
- true "fire-and-forget" performance;
- flexible flight path ("low", "high - low");
- supersonic speed at all flight phases;
- multi-platform capability permitting their use by surface ships of all major classes, submarines and ground-based launchers.

Capabilities of the Yakhont antiship missile

1. Preliminary targeting
2. Launch phase
3. Acceleration and ascent
4. High-altitude cruise phase
5. Diving phase
6. Seeker head activation and acquisition of target
7. Descent and low-altitude flight
8. Seeker head repeated activation
and missile homing

SS-N-26 Yakhont/Oniks P-800 | Russian Arms, Military Technology, Analysis of Russia's Military Forces

I am still not buying how one can say its a REJECTED one

The Brahmos differs from the Russian missile mainly in that it is launched vertically, whereas the Russian Yakhont is launched from angled launchers. A land-attack version of the Brahmos is also said to be planned.
The missile is powered by a ramjet-type, liquid-fuel sustainer and a solid-rocket booster, which is used in the first seconds of flight. The missile's range is 300 km (high-low profile) or 120 km (low profile. These ranges include maneuvers, so theoretically a missile could reach longer distances if it flew directly. The missile's speed is Mach 2.3 at high altitude and Mach 1.5 at low altitude. The passive radar mode enables the missile to detect active jamming sources and use them for homing. This and other features of the missile's radar seeker make it very ECM resistant.

Its not an Indian propaganda

The Sunburn - Iran's Awesome Nuclear Anti-Ship Missile

The US ships in the Gulf will already have come within range of the Sunburn missiles and the even more-advanced SS-NX-26 Yakhonts missiles, also Russian-made (speed: Mach 2.9; range: 180 miles) deployed by the Iranians along the Gulf's northern shore. Every US ship will be exposed and vulnerable. When the Iranians spring the trap, the entire lake will become a killing field.

Try and imagine it if you can: barrage after barrage of Exocet-class missiles, which the Iranians are known to possess in the hundreds, as well as the unstoppable Sunburn and Yakhonts missiles.

In 2001, Jane's Defense Weekly reported that Iran was attempting to acquire anti-ship missiles from Russia. Ominously, the same report also mentioned that the more advanced Yakhonts missile was "optimized for attacks against carrier task forces." Apparently its guidance system is "able to distinguish an aircraft carrier from its escorts." The numbers were not disclosed.

you have talked about anti ship missile

now lets talk about anti anti ship missiles systems

and my favorite

Close-in weapon system (CIWS)

Destroying mortar bombs

can Babur and Brahmos defeat these Defenses

now don't tell me that fire 100 Babur or Brahmos

practical reply ????

you are right; simply because C-802 doesnt follow an S trajectory
6pnatv.jpg

Four phases in trajectory
  1. Initial ascending
  2. Flattening ( at high altitude)
  3. Diving
  4. Re-flattening (terminal phase)

Only the fourth stage can skim; 2nd phase most potent for detection

The picture says Indian Armed Forces needs 1000 Brahmos.

Pretty large number to start an Arms race.

I wonder if we ever will have peace in South Asia.

.
and it also says export capacity 2000 No

to whom they will export

and what is the range limits for missile exports...

A lot countries might buy this missile (Talking about bhrahmos).

And you cannot sell missile more than 300 KM,

This thread was supposed to be a JF17 dedicated thread, now it's a Brahmos dedicated thread -- damn shame. And please don't blame the indian, Pakistanis took the bait hook line and sinker. Stupid!!

. .
bro this is now advance no more cuz there has been another one created just recently with hypersonic speeds....Its name is highly classified and its initial tests are excellent. ...it runs on superelectromagnetic inducted fields and can reach super hypersonic speeds within no time....its range is limitless(classified) can even shoot down starz ....there is no place on this earth and even in the Galaxy that it can't hit...:woot::cheesy: dont ask me more cuz its ultra classified successful project....:)
I guess this will be enough for any kind of threat past present and future...no questionz asked.... :lol:

Stop it, will ya?

Read the thread title again....

Ok guys, i think enough talk done, instead of derailing the thread concentrate on the topic.

Also, this thread is being closed as these things can be repeated in the main JF-17 thread also where JF-17s weapon systems have been discussed and nothing new has been mentioned in this thread regarding the AShM.
