Since we’re on the subject of sugar mafia. The person whose HAS been proven to have done market manipulation in sugar industry is Jahangir Tareen.

He settled the insider trading case with the SECP. If it wasn’t for his political influence, the charge against him in another country could have landed him in jail. He settled because he got caught and he was guilty.

Only in Pakistan can a man who settled insider trading cases and who has been similarly disqualified as NS was, be allowed to sit in cabinet meetings and play such a big role in governance.

As well as the dozens of sugar mills directly owned (in their name) by the Sharif family in Punjab.
