Just like Pakistanis and Iranians we look so much alike

depends. A Pakistani Punjabi and an Indian Punjabi are identical - they're both Punjabi, after all. However, Balochis are very Persian. Japanese are closest IMO to Eastern Wu Chinese (almond eyes, single eyelids, soft eyebrows, soft face) in appearance. I'm from central China, the heart of Chinese civilization since the Han. We don't look very Japanese (rounded eyes, double eyelids, strong eyebrows, sharp face). Northerners look more Korean. Southerners look somewhat Southeast Asian.
Wu (Eastern China, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, parts of Shandong)
Central (Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Sichuan, Chongqing, Jiangxi, parts of Shanxi)
Northerners (Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Beijing, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Qinghai)
Southerners (Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Fujian):
I am from Shanghai, we don't bear any resemblance with the Japanese.
The Japanese usually carry a strong Pacific islander look which is practically absent among the population from the eastern China.
Also, the northerners don't look like Koreans, I have seen many northerners by myself, and I can tell them apart from the Koreans most of time.

Northerners look more Korean and Mongol (almond eyes, strong eyebrows, flat face, single eyelid, tall and muscular). Southerners look somewhat Southeast Asian (almond eyes, double eyelids, round face, shorter on average).
I literally baidu'ed for "Shanghai men and women" (representing Wu), "Wuhan men and women" (representing Central), "Northeastern men and women" (representing North) and "Cantonese men and women" (representing South).

I know alot of northerners. Out of 4, 3 look very Korean including 2 girls. They are from Jilin and Shandong. 大饼脸小眼睛有木有~
However it is true that Japanese have strong Pacific Islander genes.

LOL, you're the same guy that thought a guy from Hong Kong was a Japanese.
I think you don't know what you're talking about, buddy.
LOL
Northern Chinese women:
vs
Central Japanese women:
This kind of Korean flat face phenotype mostly comes from the Jilin near the Korean border.
The northeasterners from Harbin don't have many individuals with this kind of phenotype, they rather have long face and prominent nose.
The actor Sun Honglei is rather an exception, his phenotype would be considered quite exotic for a typical Harbiner.

OK, maybe I have bias then, because most of my northerner friends are from Jilin and Shandong. I noticed that Hebei and Beijing were different. I also know a girl from Jiangsu who looks very Japanese from hair to even her legs.
Many northeasterners I've met have long horse face and prominent nose just like this actress.
BTW, she is from Jilin, but her face is still purely Sinic without any visible Korean admixture.

yep the horse face is also very prominent in northerners and Koreans don't have that.
