I see that Indonesia's defense budget is as low as Japan's. At 1.0% of the GDP. At Indonesia's size, tho, they should increase it from 1% to at least 1.5%. 1.0% of Indonesian GDP is about $8.4 Billion. 1.5% would take it up to around $12 Billion.
Of course Indonesia is capable of managing large capital ships the size of the Hatakaze Class, the Akizuki Class , even as large as the Atago Class. Listen, if a small country like Taiwan can operate the Kee Lung Class Guided Missile Destroyer (its a Kidd Class Destroyer) with a tonnage of 9,000, then why not Indonesia?

Philippines needs to rapidly acquire missiles, should invest in missile technology research.
Well, our budget is restrained by our government energy subsidize. Basically, when I buy some fuel for my car, the gov pay half of it.
Is that a bad thing ?
