Japanese are smart and they forsee a good economic relationship with the fastest growing 100 million+ population economy in the world.
It is not a coincidence that they are massively ramping up the soft loans that they giving to BD both through bilateral organisations like JICA and Japanese-led multilateral ones like ADB.

BD-Japan ties are only going to get stronger into the future. Japan has always supported BD since independence and this will never be forgotten.

Lincoln was murdered as well. Doesn't change the fact that he was a great leader.

Regardless how he died, does not change the fact that he probably is among the greatest leader of all time. Mujib to Bangladeshis is what Jinnah is to Pakistanis or Mao to Chinese.

See what others have said about him:

I have not seen the Himalayas. But I have seen Sheikh Mujib. In personality and in courage, this man is the Himalayas. I have thus had the experience of witnessing the Himalayas

Cuba's Fidel Castro, Embracing Bangabandhu at the Algiers Non-Aligned Summit in 1973 ,

In a sense, Sheikh Mujib is a greater leader than George Washington, Mahatma Gandhi and De Valera.

Lord Fenner Brockway, leader of the British humanist movement ,

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman does not belong to Bangladesh alone. He is the harbinger of freedom for all Bengalis. His Bengali nationalism is the new emergence of Bengali civilization and culture. Mujib is the hero of the Bengalis, in the past and in the times that are.

Hasnein Heikal, The greatest journalist of the new Egypt, (former editor of Al Ahram and close associate of the late President Nasser)

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman led his people in their struggle for liberation through his inspired and courageous leadership. I pay homage to a great visionary and statesman who laid a firm foundation for an independent, strong and proud Bangladesh.

Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh ,

What a self- satirical goverment BAL is.

He was a great leader of Bangladesh, I don’t see any point of making his statue in Japan. It will be as meaningless as a Roosevelt statue in Dhaka.

that is courtesy honouring leaders of other countries. We are keeping md ali Jinnah photo in university aligarh .

Yeah, and they should build a sculpture of Jinnah or Imran Khan instead.
We are keeping jinnah house well maintained where he wanted to live after retirement.
