What i mean is -- becoming active participants of Japanese Society. We should bring in more immigrants who are open to the idea of "becoming" Japanese. Once an immigrant chooses to naturalize, he or she must give up their former citizenship and nationality. They then becoming Japanese Nationals. Their loyalty and dedication should be to their New Homeland-- Japan. And to no other.

Precisely. This is what I don't see eye to eye with most Japanese conservatives who are against immigration. To me, immigration is a necessity. We should encourage immigrants from Korea, China, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Asia, and the West et al. Immigration is a must.

We should learn from say the Germans or the French who have an immigrant population of say 6-10%.

There is that possibility. However, we can learn much from the experiences of the Singaporeans, the Israelis, the Americans, the Canadians. Most important thing is to encourage miscegenation between immigrants with ethnic Japanese.

Excellent point, Sir. The problem is that there is this "population shift" from rural areas to the urban cities in Japan. This leaves many of Japan's rural towns, villages severely under-populated. There should be a plan to bring in immigrants vis-a-vis working visas, education visas to these rural areas to offset the population shortage there. This is exactly what the U.S is doing , and we should learn from Washington.

The Japanese simply need to issue a holiday several times a year, where Saki is dirt cheap, entrance to all entertainments places is reduced, where the clubs are open for 24 hours and run a national campaign of "making love" for the country.

1 million is too small for a country like japan where nearly half of the population is 0ver 60
1.5-1.8 million should be the target but then again japanese government is not sleeping they must have some game plan
