I can't speak for the PH but VN has many military garrison and controls the majority of Spratly islands.I don't think Vietnam or Philippines have the money or technology to build islands so far away from their mainland.

I'm amazed of the JP, PH & VN bashing by Chinese netizen. When theres a negative comment about CH it gets removed and lock. It just show mods are bias and unfair toward non chinese....
Yes, our economy, which is larger than Germany's + Russia combined is small, lol.
Russia has 45 times your land area.
The World Factbook
Russia has the world's largest nuclear arsenal. Russia is self sufficient in terms of oil and natural gas.
I'd take Russia's advantages over your imaginary GDP number any day.
Japan can have the largest GDP in the world. It's just a number. At the end of the day, you're still stuck on an island importing 60 percent of your food. Am I right or wrong about that?
To be honest, very impressive capabilities of our Chinese friends.
@cnleio ,
To be honest, Japan doesn't really criticize openly because we, too, are building islands. Tho much further south of our Empire.
One example is the Okinotorishima Island, which will become a naval base.

China’s Island Construction in South China Sea No Threat, Says Foreign Minister
BEIJING—China’s foreign minister defended his government’s efforts to reclaim and develop land around disputed reefs and islands in the South China Sea, saying the work was “necessary” and posed no threat to other nations.
“This construction does not target or affect anyone,” Wang Yi said at a news conference Sunday on the sidelines of an annual meeting of parliament.
“We are not like some countries who engage in illegal construction in another person’s house, and we do not accept criticism from others when we are merely building facilities in our own yard. We have every right to do things that are lawful and justified.”
Satellite images show China has significantly expanded reclamation and construction work on several reefs it controls in the disputed Spratly Islands in the past two years, raising fresh concerns in the U.S. and Asia about increasing Chinese assertiveness in the region.

that is shit.
why not copy from china? we must urgently increase the size of our islands and build, let say, 100 more islands.
We r building a tank maintenance center in Battambang-Cambodia, no time to play cheap game wt useless PLA who only can building some cheap building in some useless rocks
Our anti-ship missile is powerful enough to sink any kind of ship passing by SCS(east sea). China artificial island cant change the status quo in SCS(east sea), VN is still a big boss there.
LOL!
You make it seem as if Japan is 'tiny'. It may not be a continent-large, but by size and population, we are still quite large.
Let's juxtapose:
Ryukyu does not belong to Japan, it is just temprorally under administration of Japan govt.
we just simply wait for your collapse like many times in the history, no need to waste our precious bullets for cheap PLAIf viet dare light a match fire at first, I bet there will not be an army called Vietnam navy or air force.
And with that, Japan has Australia and the rest of ASEAN along with North America and some of Western Europe.

No, according to UCLOS, Okinotorishima is a REEF, not an island. nothing can be changed. it should share no EEZ.
please modify your map accordingly. Even shima means island, it changes nothing.
any way, not recognized by China.
cannot wait to see the 100 islands by formidable viet.
Sorry, this is too expensive a game to be played by viets.
