Japanese should put in all efforts to build this jet. They may end up in the same boat as Turkey if they rely on the US F-35 for 5th gen tech where if relations go sour, they end up being sanctioned

I'm still an Indian citizen and all I care about is the well being of India. People in the US openly criticize about the policies of the US government and so did I.

I never badmouthed about the people nor the companies that I'm working for, but how there is always a risk of being sanctioned by the US while procuring major weapons systems if relations ever go sour

I read a comment once (might have been on YouTube ) wondering why S. Korea and Japan didn't just co-develop a Gen-5 "Asiafighter" together; both are hi-tech/industrialized nations, both sorta kinda on the same side geopolitics-wise. And it was true, lots of stuff on the surface aligns.

Darn that thing called history (w/ a healthy dose of nationalistic exceptionalism). Now both countries can feel free to blow cash 2x for pretty much the same thing, cuz they don't like each other Anyway, just my musings
