Surely points in the direction of mutual cooperation and a secret defense pact thats already in place, the Chinese are of course wary of it.
By supporting dictatorship regimes, supporting rogue and Islamist states, supporting maoists in Nepal China is not only harming us in our immediate neighborhood but also undermining us in any available international fora, also arming our neighbors, supplying them spying equipment, building ports around us in an apperent bid to surround us.
we will have to face them at one point of time, they have developed massive infrastructure spending to the tune of 325 billion on it so that they can move 30 divisions of troops within a month on our borders and past experiences point out to the fact that their movement against us will be swift and sudden without warning - no wonder that they furiously are objecting to our observation posts that can keep an eye on their movements.
Now can India match their massive infrastructure development or the hundreds of billions that they are pumping into their war machine? the answer surely is in the negative.
The chinese never honor any accords or treaties, they will lay claim or create issues with anyone depending on their geo strategic requirements, they have intentionally kept their biggest land disputes unresolved which happens to be with India so that it can be trumped up when required. So can we be assured that the chinese will not initiate coflict even if we cut a deal with them?? No, they will disshonor it when their geo strategy calls for it @
Joe Shearer.
The chinese hold to ransom our water sources and are building massive dams on them, they have adamantly refused to sign a water sharing treaty or any accord for joint monitoring nor are acknowledge Indian concerns over it.
The chinese hackers incessently attack our sites and India is one of the biggest victims of cyber attacks, they have most of our secrets and are actively sizing us up.
Will china prevent us from seeking energy sources from the SCS while they actively dig in the Indian ocean thanks to sri lanka and bangladesh - of course they willl.
To add to that China will be our biggest irritant and opposition for our UNSC bid.
Many countries who are wary of China know pretty well that India is a target for the chinese - surely not now, but surely in the future.
Russia has been actively trying very hard to promote a Russia - China - India alliance, and who exactly has been scuttling that proposal - no surprises there - its china.
Can India alone withstand a major conflict with China? NO, can we match PLAAF plane for plane? NO, Can we match PLAN?NO, So whats preventing the chinese from getting aggressive atm, a weaker India and other enemies whom they look at as priorities.
So if we cannot match them and our smaller nuke arsenal, moderate delivery system and NFU policy removes the nuke deterrent being a concern for them can we count on beating them? will we need help from others to aid us? of course we will, now Russians have aided us in the past but will they aid us against china - dont think so. It makes sense to have a few friends in place at the time of need, and we need to acknowledge them at the moment. No two ways about that.
