Japan eyes major military policy shift that would allow land strikes in China

You just remind me that Japan is another country which has wit territorial disputes with every single neighor, namely Russia, China, North Korea and South Korea.

Japan is not. According to UN documents, Japan is not allowed to own any territory beyond its own four islands.

The current dispute is only about the United States stirring up antagonism between Japan and its neighbors to prevent Japan from reconciling with the rest of Asia. By the time the United States returns to United Nations rules, Japan will have no territorial disputes.

They think China is Hesbollah or Syrian Government who afraid to lay their hand on Israel, just because their hands are already full with the civil war. Firing some Tomahawk to China will bring missiles exchange that can cause a whole destruction to entire Japan. It's not worth it. It's no longer a World War 2 situation, when China was in a very long civil war situation. Nor Manchurian era, where Qing dynasty was already become the shell of it's former glory, thanks to a very huge civil war such Taiping Rebellion.

While the Japanese might be looking for a more assertive posture with regards to China but it will be under no illusion of initiating an armed conflict with China.
