What I noticed is that Jandarma has formed Environment Protection units (sth like US Park Rangers maybe?) and they are using the old helicopters for vehicle traffic observation. Also, when did they get Black Hornet-like miniature UAVs? Does anyone know what is the model used by Jandarma?

I think when they fully split up from the military after the coup, they started making real nice PR efforts. Hope the Armed Forces can learn from them.

Pakistan badly needs to have a force as well resourced, trained as Jandarma.

. .
Still love this gem.

Every conflict region needs them, they are essential in the fight against terrorism.
They look mean. Did I tell you my brother whose in the police has applied for transfer to the ARV or Armed Response Units? His going to begin ARV training next month. He got sick of dealing with pub brawls, drunks and domestics and vehicle accidents.

I really hope that Erdogan did not purge the good elements in the JANDARAMA after the coup attempt in 2016

I thought "unarmed policing" was the core of the policing culture in the UK ? :enjoy:

What led him to apply for armed response units ? ARV missions and tasks are more exciting, differents or something ?

It is. But for the guys and girls making the thin blue line it's not fun. Drunks, pub brawls, domestics, drunk women asking for phone numbers is apparently not fun after few months. In addition the paperwork that goes with it, not to mention continous provocation by the public ~ in this case being called "P", spitting, abuse thrown at parents can be testy. He tells me the "pakee" does not knock a stir out of him but some drunks after they get cuffed launch all sort of abuse including against "your mum is ***" that he obviously really struggles to hold back. Month back he did a shift with ARV guys on active operation and he liked it. Most of the day they drive around in BMW X5s and since gun incidents are rare typical shift is chilled out. and if there is trouble units of ARV's arrive in minutes. So not a bad deal. ARV's do not deal with most of the mundane stuff. So he figure two years in ARV will clock his time to qualify for promotion.

They really love uniforms dont they?
Yes, they do. Bizzare. He is dead ringer for Ross [American sitcom 'friends'] so that acts as a pull. His partner is female which makes his job harder in tough situations for obvious reason.
