Although Life cover under Jan Dhan Yojana may not be applicable to all because only those in the age group of 18-60 years will be able to get the life insurance cover from state-run LIC, one person per household. But still it is very good scheme for poor people because this scheme makes the infrastructure ready for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) schemes to be rolled-out quickly. This will improve governance and plug leakages. This scheme was created mainly for those 40% people of India who were living without benefits of banking facilities.
