BSF man kills colleague at RS Pura
A Border Security Force (BSF) man on Saturday allegedly opened fire from his service weapon, killing his colleague here at a Border Out Post in RS Pura sector, sources and reports said.
As per police sources, a head constable of the BSF was killed when his colleague opened fire on him in forward area of R S Pura sector.
“The incident took place inside Border Out Post (BOP) Nikowal of 192 BSF battalion, where both were deployed,” sources said. The deceased has been identified as head constable Rakesh Kumar.
“Head Constable Heera Lal fired 15 rounds at fellow constable at about 063.50 p.m. from his personnel weapon after a verbal brawl broken between the two over some trivial issue,” sources said.
They added that the victim was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu where he succumbed.
Meanwhile, BSF has ordered a Court of Inquiry into the incident.
This was second such incident in one month. Earlier on July 24 a Border Security Force man stabbed his colleague and fled away with his service rifle in Kanhacahak area. The accused was later arrested from Punjab.
