this’s the power!!
expanding domestic demand and promoting consumption
:lol::china:

Exactly. This is a good thing. As personal and public transportation becomes more widespread, convenient and available, domestic tourism takes hold. In fact, I would prefer folks to prefer domestic destinations instead wasting a ton of money on a costly trip overseas.

I read that, in the first two days, about 12 billion USD was spent during travels.

Many tourist attractions have already lowered prices this year to attract more tourists, boosting revenue for hotels and restaurants.

China needs much more tourist attractions than it currently has. Even though many are being built, it is still not meeting market demand. The middle class grew so fast that the time to build and market many of the attractions properly wasn't enough. As a result, well known attractions get an overwhelming number of visitors.

For example I was at mount Hua and it was faster to go up the mountains by foot than to wait in line for the cable lift, same goes for coming down. If you are willing to go by foot then it will be quite rewarding, much better than waiting in line for hours.

Some of the older paths are steep, close to being vertical. The steps have to be built with the normally vertical part of the stairs angling into the rock face. I think these old paths were mainly built during the ROC era and the best part about them is that there is no safety harness (unlike the plank path). If you fall you break your bones on the rocks below or die which does happen occasionally. It makes the older routes much more rewarding to climb, nothing like walking up a vertical cliff face by just holding onto a chain with no harness. If you are not afraid of heights, it is not that bad actually, it's not very physically difficult accomplish, much easier compared to actual rock climbing. If it's not your thing then one can walk exclusively on the newer paths that are like normal stairs. Though at some parts it is fairly steep and you will be a few feet within a few hundred or thousand meter drop at some sudden turns. I remember a mid aged man holding up everyone behind because he was too scared to walk down.

Over the years, there's been growth in 农家乐 which are basically farms setup to accept visitors and each one has its own unique take. Many uses this opportunity to promote its local food processing industry using locally sourced ingredients and promote rural culture. They have rural style hostels, activities, and can host events.

Here's one from Heilongjiang

Snow village is meant to allow visitors a traditional North Eastern styled experience. There's dog, horse, reindeer sledding among other activities.

WTF everyone are just going to those cliche tourist sites.....
Recommend some fancy places and.....home!

Enshi Grand Canyon, 4 hours by train from my hometown!
And there is shuttle bus directly from the train station.
Inside the national park there is cable car and shuttle bus as well.

The best option, stay back in Wuhan!

I regret having recommended Enshi Canyon.
Just checked, this place, at this very moment, is as busy as any mainstream tourist site.
AVOID!AVOID!AVOID!
Tens of miles of walking trails and cable car (of course) have been jammed with people.
