My friend, we in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran still today consider every one of the Mujahideen as heroes.

I don't know how you Indians feel about it, but the Soviet invasion affected us directly.

The Afghan war of the 80's was similar to the Libyan war and Syrian war started in 2011. Afghanistan was yet another Muslim-majority socialist country under regime change attack from the capitalist-imperialist bloc.

I don't know how you Indians feel about it,

Indians as a country don't have a popular view of what happened in Afghanistan in the 80's. Many Indians enjoyed the Hollywood film, Rambo, that propagated the Western governments' opinion about the Afghan war. Many Indians saw Rambo as just another action film but also subconsciously accepted the opinion propagated in that film.

Also, the sons of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto were given refuge in 80's Afghanistan. They had escaped Zia ul Haq's government in Pakistan.
