Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Actor and action movie star from Hong Kong, Jackie Chan, was appointed Tourism Ambassador of Indonesia for the Chinese market, aka China.
Director of Tourism Promotion of Foreign Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Nia Undoubtedly, on Tuesday, said the Indonesian government would be officially lifted veteran actor who was born in Victoria Peak, Hong Kong, on April 7, 1954, that in the near future.
"The coronation will officially be on August 30, 2014, in the event China International Travelmart Guang Zho," said Undoubtedly.
On that occasion Jackie who has appeared in at least 100 movie titles that will sing the song Bengawan Solo, which is known widely in the Chinese public.
The song Bengawan Solo Chinese version sung by Jackie Chan will be recorded and can be downloaded free of charge at the website cn.indonesia.travel.
Jackie is also Cantopop and Mandopop singer that will be in charge of promoting tourism in Indonesia to take part in every activity.
It chose actor who studied acting since the 1970s, is considering its action that has been so well-known even internationally.
"It will be very beneficial for Indonesia and we hope this can help the target to be able to attract 1 million tourists from China this year," he said.
Such promotion, said Nia, judged effective because the Indonesian government does not need to spend any money as compensation to the designated ambassador.
But its impact is relatively large as when a few years ago, it raised economist Philip Kotler world as an ambassador for tourism in Indonesia.
