To build a reliable engine is not about brainstorming, but about experience, i think the time passed is the experience we gained.

US also did encounter many problems during the early introduction of F-119.

The prototype of WS-15 is expected to be comparable to F-119 and finalized version comparable to F-135.

I know it is a very bold move to use a prototype engine in a flight test for a prototype fighter. However, CCP really wants, this means they are really confident about the WS-15 engines.

To be honest, I dont agree because its just too risky to test WS-15 on J-20. I would have believed it if there would have been leaks of J-10 or J-11 using WS-15. It is just like playing with fire by putting up a brand new untested,untuned and immature engine into one of the most crucial fighter jets. I think we should see it firstly on a 4th gen so that it is given time to mature for much more costly and crucial 5th Gen platform.(Just my 2 cents)

It is pretty much a WS engines, but quite different to WS-10A.

So if it is not WS-15, then WS-10G is very probable.

WS-10G can also provide the supercruise ability like F-22.

It is pretty much confirmed that the new silver engines are WS-10G.

speed回复：瞎扯淡!你分的清太行和31没有?图中加力燃烧室筒体与喷口外调节片之间的锯齿形边缘是任何一款AL31系列发动机都没有的,但是与606所在发动机隐身上采用的措施是相同的。这世上也没有哪种油漆能承受的了发动机喷口数百度的高温烘烤而不剥落。

“正确的说法似乎应该是：结构完全不同的“外喷口”，应该是一款从来未公开过的国产“外喷口”........

It's probably not a WS-15. The WS-15 prototype is said to have made its first run in 2010. The WS-15 will probably have stealth-optimized nozzles.

It's probably the WS-10B or WS-10G. WS-10B has 3D thrust vectoring.
