Istanbul rocked by alleged Erdogan corruption call

He does not have to listen to any media. All he has to do is read the numerous judgements against turkey by the European Court of Human Rights for killing innocent Kurds and other civilians. Also, maybe, as a turk, you should not talk about media manipulation. Your country is well known for being of the biggest manipulators of media (Turkey’s media manipulation: from denial to 'so what?' - Al-Monitor: the Pulse of the Middle East and if I am not wrong, you have the most journalists in prison for second year in a row ( Turkey: 'World's biggest prison' for media - Features - Al Jazeera English Your credibility is kind of shaky.

Food for thought :agree:

Now i know you're a pkk supporter, but it seems you have the wildest fantasies to exaggerate the situation in Turkey, just to win sympathy from foreigners.

You're right about the 90's Turkey. There were mistakes, no one can deny that.

It's 2014 now and the situation of the kurds is MUCH better. kurds can live and work everywhere, towns are also given their kurdish names, kurds have their own parties etc.

Despite all of this kurds seem to be happy in Turkey. As i said before, there was never a 'kurdish spring' in Turkey, the kurdish parties never received much support from Kurds as you would expect from 'oppressed' people (ironically AKP, a Turkish party, is most famous in south east, way to show your anomosity and protest against Turkey). It even gets better; if that kurdistan will come on Turkish soil, i can bet all my possession on it that the kurds in west Turkey will never leave Turkey to live in the south east where there is almost nothing significant to live on.

Idc what you will ramble about in your next post, but the facts that the kurds in Turkey never rose up in a 'kurdish spring' way in the last 30 years and the fact that kurds had the chance to vote on the kurdish parties, but voted Mostly Akp says all what is needed to know, no matter what excuse you will use now. If i was an oppressed minority, a Kurd in your case, i would never ever vote on a Turkish party to protest Turks.

Hell, if a i know... but i can say there is not much split in Turkey.

You, know. We had "Gezi Park" protests in Turkey a few months ago. There were no clashing of different groups of people. Just people against government.
It will be interesting to see the next elections and how many are likely to vote for AKP and how many for a more secular party.

Maybe 50-50 or the Islamists with a slight upper hand.

What's the split in the country like between Islamist/MB and secular/democrats etc?
Erdogan caused this We against Them, there was no such thing before.
All of those who are against him are Jews,Atheist,CIA etc..enemies of Turkey.
In reality,Turkish people never used or will use religion to devide the country.
Because of the positive economic developments most people think Erdogan is the solution but now with all the corruption scandals hopefully even the conservative Muslims will see his true objectives.

I seriously don't know. But i think not so much.... if CHP&MHP can get more votes together they can form a coalition. (Possible)

I don't believe in Turkey being %50 Islamist. We had also Islamist parties at past, they got votes around %10-%15.

Erdogan did many good deeds to country no one can deny it but I don't know the outcome of the elections....we will wait and see, hopefully he goes down.

Edit: Also there is no serious opposition or leader against him.... some people thinks like " If i don't give my vote to Erdogan, than who......" They turn blind eye to his misdeeds.

IMO Erdogan won't go.I suspect that turks have the same mentality as other Balkan nations including mine.Example:

In my home town there's a corrupt mayor serving his 4th term. Now,we all know he's corrupt and steals but unlike previous mayors he has actually done something for the city which actually looks decent now, hence people think "yeah,he's corrupt but unlike others he's done something for us to.If he leaves others will come and they will only steal".

Unfortunately we're not scandinavians where a state official gets thrown out of office if they find out he bought a plane ticket for his wife with state money.

Yes, he's been good with the economy I guess - but he's doing damage to Turkey's political culture and institutions.

Same problem in Israel in the last election that some people didn't want Bibi, but there was no credible opposition. This happens a lot in politics. It sometimes comes down to just character and charisma. Erdogan may be a shit, but he has presence on a stage and talks big.

Mate, i was thinking exactly same until today.

But they leaked two more tapes a few hours ago. They are forcing Erdogan to resign....

Think about it, what if got they got more tapes even videos.... what if they keep coming straight for one year until general elections ?

I bet Erdogan is thinking the same with me, right now. :)

The mayor i was telling you about has been caught drunk,on drugs(true story!), with money and properties in Brazil and has some 6-10 law suits for corruption, abuse of state funds, embezzlement, paraded in a Nazi uniform creating national outrage, beaten a football player, etc. With all of this he won his 4th term in 2012.

Well... mate, i really don't wanna go into discussion as "Whose major is more crook" but our Mayor Melih Gökçek. Is on his 4th also and going for the fifth next month. He has been our major since 94 (20 years).

Skipping all the small details. He erected "Gökçek Apartman Complexes" which belongs to him personally. :D

Yep mate,"men of the people" or,as i like to call them "men who throw bones to chew to the plebes" and the people buy it all up unfortunately.

:omghaha:

Are you two joking with us? We just heard how Erdogan and his son tried to save their millions from police, People are gainst corruption, and the fact that AKP is ''islamic'' wont change anything.

No one gives a shit what AKP are. "Islamic"? What kind of joke is this?

What matters is that AKP is a better party than ANYTHING Turkey has...and this is a proven fact.

But I've seen many Turks here hating on Erdogan/AKP just because they are "Islamist" (A word which has NO meaning in itself and is a joke of a word coined by some retarded westerners)...

Anyways, I hope Turks don't end up a laughing stock like Egyptians did...

Its hard to get 50-50 things are more comlicated, there are 3 main partys AKP, CHP and MHP

Next elections could look like this:

Conservative AKP ~40%
Secularist/Liberal CHP ~30%
Nationalist MHP ~15%
Rest ~15%

Things could change if CHP and MHP could form a coalition which is not impossible but its a slightly possibility.

So, you believe Erdoğan will go..........

Well, not in our banana republic. Here, people follow him blindly. Even if Erdoğan shits them on the face, they will still vote for him.

Who would you vote for? CHP? LOL

I think Turks like Abdullah Gul more than Erdogan...Probably its time that he or any other, more pragmatic AKP leader takes over?
