What's new

ISRO's budget increased by 35%

when did i say i am against communication etc satellites ?? I am just critical about chandrayaan and indian flying in space.. but the point is whatever the GOI doing enough for the unprivileged ones and we are wasting money on useless project showing our fake sense of pride and hiding our poors

Space missions are important too.it provides a platform to conduct microgravity experiments on Micro-biology, Agriculture, Powder Metallurgy, etc.

Welcome To Indian Space Research Organisation :: Current Programme

First of all acknowledge that there are hundreds of projects which has no direct effect on common people. Experiments in various fields , archeological projects, expeditions, IT investments, call centres and many more has no direct effect on the very basic common man. Each of this sector have their own beneficiaries and the benefits indirectly can be passed on to the poorest of poor.

ISRO missions doesnt necessarily mean it involves the topmost scientists. The petty labourers are also part of it. More projects means more job creation.

there is no quick way solution to the poverty it takes time, in our case a lotta god damn time.

yes it will take time, but that should be our top most priority than anything else.. investment at the ground level will bring manifold increase in development of country than any other thing.

So according to you, we should spend 60% of our gdp in poverty management? and should over look R&D, defense, healthcare & education. Coz' according to your logic poverty is the immediate threat and all other issues can wait.

Social imbalance is not growing day by day. Infact the current inflation and rise in food prices have been hugely blamed on rural prosperity and the effects of it due to increase in their purchasing power.

are u kidding me !!! when 330 millions people live under BPL and cannot afford two times of food how can u blame these people for inflation ??.. the inflation is because of sharad pawar (refer GOI policies regarding export and import and wastage of food) and poor mangement of supply chain. and the food is necessity not the luxury

And we are doing that too... having billions doesnt necessarily mean we can spend it on time, in this case in a years' time.

Thats wrong data, many well off families are holding bpl card for added benefits.

its a luxurious product is absolutely true... I am not BShitting here. i have been to many places where i have seen the poverty. i have seen people playing with their life for selling a five rupee bottle.. I have seen enough buddy and u are closing your eyes like nothing is happening and middle class people want to satisfy their false ego that we are developing. I think u could have seen that's why u are saying.. no hard feelings

u got me totally wrong mate ... i am saying that money should be use wisely and for the benefit of larger people. i am talking about spending of money at ground level in the form of education, infrastructure, women empowerment and healthcare. u all know what a dismal record we have in education, poverty , sanitation etc. the focus and priority should be this.

The capacity of nation to spend what we have on a quick time is sadly in a dismal state.

Many announced projects are still lagging , burdening further through allocation is useless.

As i said we cant spend the money even if we have, on the schemes on a larger way even if we want to due to the limitations.

this is a lame excuse... when we have such a high fiscal deficit how can we say that we are not able to utilize the available funds. in some cases it is true but in most it is not true. i dont know how we have such a high fiscal deficit.

In the coming 5 years GoI will spend $1 trillion on infrastructure development, that will bring jobs to many under privileged people. There are many initiatives like 100 day work, anganari, etc to ensure jobs in rural India and basic education for their children. Malnutritions in children are being addressed by giving food in primary schools all across India. So steps are being taken.
And while all the other countries are fighting with budget constraints we are having a decent growth of around 8.5%, so we can afford to spend small chunk of it on R&D. can't we?

Just check the local government funds.. its not the direct involvement of central governments in the schemes. the money alloted is transferred to states and its upto them to utilize it properly. Even in my state where the rate of development and governance is of the highest standard , a majority of funds are wasted each year from the budget allocation due to non utilisation.

Its upto the state government to priorities the allotments on poverty and social schemes. Some do good some dont.

u didn't get the point... i am talking the optimum utilization of money... are we providing the enough funds to the rural sector ?? we do not have the luxury to waste money in useless project like chandrayaan. just think if we had spent the 400 cr in development of 1000 villages what could be the outcome ?? and i am not against the R&D either but it should be on priority basis.

2 lakhs farmers did suicide in india in last two year what answers u have for that travesty ?? we should stop dreaming of india being a super power when we cannot empower our own people
