The GSLV achieves this with a combination of solid, earth-storable liquid and cryogeni...c propellants in it’s first, second and third stages respectively. The lift-off is further augmented by the four earth-storable liquid strap-on boosters attached to the first stage.

Mission Status: GSLV-D5/GSAT-14

GSAT-14 satellite is getting through its final phase of preparations before getting integrated into GSLV-D5 launch vehicle. GSLV-D5 in its full glory will get into the second launch pad - soon. We'll keep you posted on the mission right here -

Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV D5) will be India’s attempt to flight-test its indigenously developed Cryogenic Engine and Stage.
This stage sips almost 13 tonnes of Liquid Hydrogen and Liquid Oxygen in just twelve minutes to produce a thrust of 75 kN.

A massive communication satellite, GSAT-14, weighing about two tonnes, has been built by ISRO to provide many satellite based communication services to the country. This satellite will be launched using GSLV D5.

Integrating GSLV D5

Integration of the 49 m tall Geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle (GSLV D5) began with the stacking of the Nozzle end segment of its mammoth first stage onto the mobile launch pedestal.

Which quasar are ISRO referring to for MOM???
Not as if I know of all quasars around...but just curious???
And why a quasar is used for standard reference??Why not something else???

Integrating GSLV D5

Five segments are stacked one over the other to form the first stage solid propellant motor of GSLV D5. This motor smokes about 139 tonnes of Hydoxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) based propellant to produce a maximum... thrust of about 4800 kN in about 100 seconds.

LAB clears GSLV D5 launch; countdown from Jan 4

Chennai, Dec 27:
Decks were cleared for the January 5 launch of India’s rejuvenated indigenous cryogenic engine fitted GSLV-D5 carrying communication satellite GSAT-14 from the spaceport of Sriharikota with ISRO’s Launch Authorisation Board (LAB) giving its nod for the key mission today.

A 29-hour countdown for the launch is set to commence on January 4 next, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) sources said.

“The Launch Authorisation Board has cleared the GSLV D5 launch for January 5. A 29-hour countdown is set to commence on January 4 at around 11 am,” an ISRO official said.

GSLV D5 would be launched at 4.18 pm from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) at Sriharikota, about 100 km from here.

The Launch Authorisation Board met at the SDSC.

Following the clearance, the launch vehicle would be moved to the launch pad tomorrow around 6 am, the sources said.

The launch vehicle had already been integrated with the 1,980 kg GSAT 14.

GSLV D5’s mission was aborted at the eleventh hour on August 19 this year due to a fuel leak in its second stage.

Fuel tank made of aluminium alloy called Afnor 7020 tended to develop crack over a period of time and the leak was blamed on it following which the rocket had been rejuvenated.

The GSLV is designed to inject its passenger spacecraft into the intended Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) with a combination of solid, earth-storable liquid and cryogenic propellants in its first, second and third stages, respectively.

The lift-off has been further augmented by the four earth-storable liquid strap-on boosters attached to the first stage, they said.

Four earth-storable liquid stages are attached to the core stage. UH25 and Nitrogen tetroxide are the fuel and oxidizer respectively in these four strap-ons. UH25 is a combination of 75% Unsymmetrical Dimethylhydrazine and 25% Hydrazine hydrate.

Well If U know about DOR and also about Quasars, hats off sir;
I get search one post in Bharat Rakshak forum which is as under, may it will be useful, as in it its refer that any Quasar near 10 degree may be used for it.

Its as under

poster (prasannasimha) Bharat Rakshak • View topic - Mangalyaan : ISRO's Mars Orbiter Mission

From the German Wikipedia site
Delta-DOR method
The Delta-DOR method (English: Delta Differential One-way Ranging) for interplanetary navigation is based on a simple but effective idea. Two widely spaced receive antennas simultaneously track a spacecraft and thereby determine the time difference between the time instants at which the signal arrives at the two stations. The art to determine this difference is one-way differential range (DOR). Theoretically, this difference depends only upon the positions of the two antennas and the observed spacecraft. However, there are a number of confounding factors, they must, for example, the radio waves through the troposphere and the ionosphere , they are disturbed by the plasma in the solar wind and the clocks of the base stations are inaccurate. The Delta-DOR method corrects this error by changing the direction of a quasar is used for correction (within 10 °) near the spacecraft.
The direction of the quasar is by prior measurements very accurately known with an accuracy of only 50 billionths of a degree. The distance to the spacecraft is calculated by measuring the time it takes for a radio signal to the probe and to the earth. By measuring the Doppler shift of the signal, the relative velocity along the line of sight is determined. In order to control the spacecraft, however, the real speed is needed in the room. So far, the movement of the probe against the sky background was observed to several days. In principle, the measured signal from the radio of the quasar time difference (the delta subtracted) from the time difference between the spacecraft. The position can be accurately determined with the delta-DOR method, since the error in the measurement of the spacecraft position can be corrected by the similar error in the Quasarposition.
This procedure was applied in the NASA space probe Phoenix and the two Mars Exploration Rovers and the ESA probe Venus Express and Rosetta for use.

Even though I dont know the Quasar ISRO Refers.
