The team, led by Isro Chairman K Radhakrishnan and Isro Scientific Secretary V Koteswara Rao, flew in here to hand over to pictures to the PM.

"A team of @ISRO scientists presented the 1st pictures from #Mangalyaan today morning. @Isro," the PM tweeted.

Earlier, Isro had posted the first picture sent by the spacecraft on its twitter handle.

"1st image of Mars, from a height of 7300 km; with 376m spatial resolution. MT @MarsOrbiter The view is nice up here," Isro tweeted.

To this, PM responded, "Yes, I agree @MarsOrbiter, the view is indeed nice up there! @Isro."

Modi was present at the Isro complex in Bangalore yesterday and witnessed the success of the mission on its maiden attempt itself. He had heaped praise on the scientists.

?Objectives
The primary objective of the Mars Orbiter Mission is to showcase India's rocket launch systems, spacecraft-building and operations capabilities.[39] Specifically, the primary objective is to develop the technologies required for design, planning, management and operations of an interplanetary mission, comprising the following major tasks:[18]

  • design and realisation of a Mars orbiter with a capability to perform Earth-bound maneuvres, cruise phase of 300 days, Mars orbit insertion / capture, and on-orbit phase around Mars;
  • deep-space communication, navigation, mission planning and management;
  • incorporate autonomous features to handle contingency situations.
The secondary objective is to explore Mars' surface features, morphology, mineralogy and Martian atmosphere using indigenous scientific instruments.[39"

1. Those above are the declared objectives of this mission. How does any of these address poverty alleviation in the country which hosts the world's largest poor? Will the annual average suicides of farmers due to hunger come down from 15,000 persons? How about toilets? What really is the true objective of India in indulging in such a mega project which does not appear a priority under any consideration?

2. Instead poverty, want, illiteracy and socioeconomic gap will widen. And more Red Corridors will come up.

The issue of poverty is not intended to be addressed by the MARS mission.........
The Indian govt. has quite a number of missions/schemes to address the issue of poverty........it is a different matter that those missions are not seeing success due to corruption......

Even if India halts all scientific endeavors and utilize the funds in poverty alleviation, it won't achieve success because of CORRUPTION.......
Therefore, the issue of poverty can only be tackled by tackling the issue of corruption NOT by diverting funds from scientific endeavors......

but dont you bangladeshis want same thing...more red corridors to come up....more poverty ....disintegration of india.....why sudden change of mind? or in other words why so much care of india the oppressor? or its just jealous or incompetency of bangladeshi to achieve such objective

when it is known that even without space industry, poverty would have still exist .....like in case of pakistan or bangladesh itself
rather with space industry its have created jobs for people or in other word elimination of poverty....

Our Space Industry leads to more cheaper satellites ,increased internet bandwidth and Tele Schools,Tele Medicine which reach every corners of India and can be used where no Medical facilities or schools exist., along with accurate weather forecasts for farmers,fishersmen could use GPS for to know maritime locations. Gps can be used for travelling people.
GPS can also be used to provide security for females by tracking their call location and services like Fire Services,police,emergencies etc. can benefit from it
Nowadays they use drones with GPS to deliver goods to your doorstep be it goods from Amazon or Pizzas.

With cheap smart phones every citizen is able to browse internet and get educated.
This leads to a huge E-MARKET boom and education.
Education leads to people coming out of poverty, If only Bangladeshi pole vaulters and mullahs knew the importance of science and education they would have invested in science and space research long time ago.

Butthurt and jealous Bangladeshis and Pakistanis lol!:rofl::rofl::rofl:
