Isro releases high resolution images of Old Doha airport, other locations in Qatar captured by Cartosat-3

CHENNAI: The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) on Friday released high resolution images of various locations in Qatar captured by cameras onboard Cartosat-3, a third-generation earth observation satellite.
The satellite’s onboard cameras have captured panchromatic and multi-spectral images of locations like Khalifa International Stadium, Old Doha International Airport and Palm City Garden in Qatar.
Isro has uploading the images on its website. It said, “Calibration and validation of the products are in process to further improve the quality of products.”

Home minister Amit Shah inaugurates state-of-the-art portal to tackle cyber crimes

Cartosat-3, the first in the third-generation earth observation satellite, was launched onboard PSLV-C47 on November 27, 2019. The satellite is the ninth one in the Cartosat series.
The cameras onboard the satellite are expected to capture images with a spatial resolution of less than 30cm. “Cartosat-3 is the most complex and advanced earth observation satellite built by Isro so far,” Isro chairman K Sivan said soon after the launch was declared successful on November 27.
