Comprehension fail by this writer really. The Kashtan is a gun-based CIWS, what gun-based CIWS does Israel offer? The contenders for the Viky's CIWS is the THALES GOALKEEPER and RAYTHEON PHALANX.

India went into the projects thinking that the Jews would hand over their latest technology.

Now they are complaining that this is not the case.

Indians were incredibly naive and have learnt that technology in nearly all cases must be developed by yourself.

That's not the case at all. The project comes with full ToT, the issues reported were largely fabricated. The main issues was the Indian MoD were not able to tie down certain details from the get go at contract signing and so certain work they assumed the Israelis would be doing wasn't done and was to be done by the Indian side but this only became known to the Indian side in around 2012. Hence the delays...

Israel requires US consent to supply any hardware. Relying on Israeli hardware is definitely a no no.

Relationship between India and Israel is well proven During Kargil War... so this is definitely YES YES.
