Istanbul'a git! Da Antalya, Bodrum, Karadeniz. Hepsi guzel :)

I am saying, go to Istanbul, also antalya and these other places. They are all gorgeous. PM me if u need specifics and are serious about going. I'm obcessed with Turkiye, I see it as my own country.

by the way, google translator is garbage. For words or phrases, use zargan.com ;)

.
FYI -- i have made a request in TT section to create a new Turkish section. Webbie seems to have given a green signal, but further discussion will be done about how/what/when.

it amazes me that until now, the proposal was never made.

.
Hail Turkey :D

time to create a dedicated section for turkey. Even turkish brothers won't participate much we are here to keep that section busy :D
hi
changed your stance haan :azn: as this is what you had to say when their was a dedicated thread asking for a Turkish section.

no need of Turkey section

there was a long thread couple of days ago

I had opposed the decision by that time now i changed me mind :lol::lol:

I seriously wouldn't understand if thats defence only section. That would be useless. But If they can create a general turkish section where all kind of content can be posted. That would be cherry on the cake

I would say visit Marmaris. That place rocks but if you want to vacation in a spot mainly Turks go to i would recommend Erdek it is under the radar where all the Turks vacation. Plus that is where the Minelayer/Sweeper ships hang out so you can check out those. Might even catch a Type 209 sub refueling.

my office and part-time residence was in Golcuk (Kocaeli). 15 minutes drive from Golcuk naval shipyards.

from my balcony i always saw naval ships sailing, it was pretty cool. My real estate agent was a former torpedo officer in TDK :D

well now i feel like an idiot for having missed that thread though I had a nasty fever past few days, didnt log in much.

this is a professional forum with a staff that makes the right decisions. Inshallah the new section would be created, in order to show our friendship to the Turks on here.

and i would ask the Turks to promote this website in exchange for this. Bring in defence/engineer/political/other type people, so we can all have dialogue and share ideas between people of both brother countries.

:)

I think that it should be a general everything forum on turkey. Then we can throw up some sticky threads for specific stuff. Like move the Turkish armed forces pictures thread there. Also move all of cabatli's threads there.

.
I would support Cabatli becoming a moderator for that section, if the administration made it a possibility.

Lets be patient and see.

We should go back to topic now.

Also, according to Haaretz, about 400,000 Israeli tourists have been asked by Israeli Culture ministry to go change their plans to go to Turkey and instead go to Bulgaria etc.
That's a lot of people. But then Turkey made its southern-borders visa-free and that will help on top of the already 1+ million Arab tourists going to Turkey every year. I have also seen comments by European bloggers that they will try to support Turkey by making a trip there this summer or next one....
I will also go to a local Turkish restaurant here in America. I like their food but prices--starting at $14/dish for dinner--is way too much. But I will still go at least once.

PS. I am surprised that Israelis are not downplaying the news of the boycott of the Turkish good and tourism to Turkey. Is this FOR REAL? I mean do Israelis not know that Turkey is the last country they want to alienate in the region surrounding Israel?! Long term, I have no doubt that Turkey will gain strategically and financially but Israelis are going to lose-lose. Should't Mossad be planning to 'take care of' Abdullah Gul and Erdogan (and then blame it on the Kurds)? Shouldn't 'the Lobby' be hyperactive in making the Turkish military mount a coup? But boycott of Turkey? That's almost suicidal for Israel.
