A vulture tagged by scientists at Tel Aviv University was 'arrested' on suspicion of being a Mossad spy after the bird strayed into Saudi Arabian territory, according to reports.

Israeli daily Ma'ariv reports that the bird was found in a rural area of the country wearing a transmitter and a leg bracelet bearing the words 'Tel Aviv University', reports the Daily Mail.

Although these tags indicate that the bird was part of a long-term research project into migration patters, residents and local reporters told Saudi Arabia's Al-Weeam newspaper that the matter seemed to be a 'Zionist plot.'

The accusations became a rage on the Internet with hundreds of posts on Arabic-language websites and forums claiming that the 'Zionists' had trained these birds for espionage.

I guess it's a vicious circle. Saudis invest in American stock market, Americans pack up some money to give it the "zionists", and Zionists use the money to train birds to spy on Saudi Arabia.

This is very very old news and it was captured over Syria now Saudi Arabia but someone ran the online hoax chain and it became really popular. The local arabic paper withdrew the article later with an apology for publishing without confirming. Saudi Arabia has no shared border with Israel.

I don’t understand why most of all in this forums are sitting only to listen words which they could be understand and which are beyond their considerations and mind they are fooling in the air.

This type of intelligence is old methods but working and in many countries this is applicable, especially in Arab countries where Desert Eagle or this type of birds are used for some professional purposes with their training. So you can’t neglect the possibility of spying interested location or delivering secret messages through trained birds.
