I am only talking hypothetically if Pakistan was to have relations with Israel. Not going to happen anytime soon I know, but I have an axe to grind with GCC and Palestine at the moment, so I am just firing from the hip.

There are unconfirmed reports that Israel did sold wepons/spares to Pakistan in the past..

.
The Kuwaiti armed forces have been found to be using Israeli military technology, despite the Arab country not recognising the Jewish state and imposing a decades-long trade embargo.

Several Kuwaiti National Guard vehicles appear to have been outfitted with Israeli-made optical sensors, which Shephard saw first-hand at a recent defence industry exhibition held in Kuwait City in December.

The technology, which is fitted to the turret of the National Guard’s Pandur armoured vehicles, is known as the Multi Threat Detection System (MTDS) and warns the vehicle crew if they are being targeted by anti-tank weapons on the ground or laser-guided bombs from aircraft.

A spokesperson from Israeli company Elbit Systems confirmed that the sensor photographed on the turret of the Kuwait National Guard vehicle was its MTDS product.

However, the spokesperson stressed that Elbit Systems had not sold the sensor to any Middle Eastern countries and that it was a ‘baseline off the shelf item’ that had been sold to vehicle manufacturers worldwide.

The Pandur vehicles operated by the Kuwait National Guard were built by General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS)-Steyr, a Vienna-based subsidiary of General Dynamics Corporation. The sensor appears on the infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) variant of the Pandur, which is outfitted with a 25mm cannon.

The National Guard use the highly-protected Pandur for internal security missions and border protection.

The Israeli technology is fitted to the guard’s newer batch of Pandur 6x6 vehicles, which were acquired around the 2013/14 timeframe and built at GDELS-Steyr facility in Simmering, Austria, which has since closed.

It is not known how many IFV variants the Kuwaitis operate.

Photos taken in March 2014 show Kuwaiti soldiers training on the new Pandur vehicles, including an IFV platform with the Israeli MTDS already present. This suggests that the Kuwaitis received the vehicles with the technology already installed and were not fitted to the vehicles after delivery.

GDELS-Steyr did not provide comment when requested.

One Austrian defence source told Shephard that a similar sensor is also utilised by the Portugese and Czech armies on their locally-manufactured Pandur II vehicles. The Austrian Army has also acquired the MTDS to outfit its new observation and reconnaissance vehicles, based on the Iveco LMV.

It is unusual that the Kuwaitis have gone nearly four years without knowing that they are using Israeli technology, especially as equipment usually comes with training and maintenance manuals from the original supplier.

One Kuwaiti soldier working with the Pandur told Shephard in December that several items on the vehicle cannot be repaired by Kuwaiti crews and must be handed over to GDELS-Steyr contractors. This may explain how the equipment could have gone unnoticed for nearly four years, although it is not known for certain whether the MTDS is one of those items.

Nevertheless, the revelation will be a significant embarrassment for Kuwait, which, like most states in the Arab League, does not recognise Israel. Kuwait refuses entry to Israeli citizens and even non-citizens with an Israeli passport stamp.

The country’s national airline has made headlines in recent years for its policy of refusing to fly Israeli passengers, even if the final destination is not Kuwait.

Kuwait also has a strict zero-tolerance trade embargo with Israel, with possession of Israeli products reportedly banned under a 1960s-era law. In 2014, Kuwait’s Commerce Ministry launched an investigation into reports that Israeli potatoes were being sold in the country as part of cooperative societies.

The Kuwait Ministry of Defence did not respond to requests for comment.

Tragicomical that a Turkish member of all people created this thread.

How old are you? Do you even believe the nonsense that you read on Twitter yourself?

Gulfies are traitors

The non-existing "gulfies" are your likes historical masters whether it is genetics, history, religion, language, culture, military conquest etc. Without those "gulfies" the ungrateful lot would still be a colony of certain regimes and people.

Even the Semitic Phoenicians were originally from Arabia. As were all Semitic peoples of Levant and Mesopotamia. Don't insult your world famous ancestors whether Arab or non-Arab (Semitic) if you have any shame left in you.

While you are at it please tell me the difference between the average Basrawi next door and Kuwaiti other than modern-day passports (both less than 100 years old)?

Pretty sure you got 'Tragicomical' reversed bud, but that's fine, don't expect much honest outlook from your kind.

For all your defence needs, buy Turkish. :-)

I am afraid that it is not KSA but Turkey that has been spending billions on weapons purchases that contain Israeli tech throughout the years (decades in fact) and I am afraid that it is not KSA but Turkey that has had close military ties with Israel. Remains close to this day.

It's like comparing apples and oranges.

Don't expect much honest outlook from your kind either. Try to fool "Mullah clowns" on PDF and elsewhere (ignorant lot) about Turkey being against the "evil West" (despite being a NATO member and TOTALLY dependent economically on the EU alone) while non-Western hostile Arab states (with less ties) are given a special treatment. That's incredibly pathetic and tragicomical indeed.

Jump along. Don't care. Just found it hilarious as every informed person would.

Well done, you linked bunch of out-dated articles. Bakalava for you.

our mullah will eat alive the country . we are slaves of slaves of slaves
They are many Mullahs inside Pakistan who say we should trade with Israel if other Muslim countries do.

Stop blaming Mullahs all the time.

Yes, an academic report from 2016 and articles from 2016 are "outdated". Whatever you say. I don't like Baklava.

I much prefer Kanafeh.

An Acadermic report that cites resources from 10 years ago, well done.

Don't like Baklava? Wow, what too sweet for your teeth ?

You are quite a "genius". So you read an academic report (10 pages long) within 5 minutes and those other 3 articles as well, all at once? Sorry to disappoint you but numerous of the sources are new.

From December 24 2016 (less than 13 months ago):

Ankara would like to buy advanced-technology armaments from Israel such as drones and surveillance systems, sources told the Istanbul- based Today’s Zaman newspaper on Thursday.

It wants the drones to help in its war against Kurdish rebels in mountainous areas.
During the 1990s, Turkey and Israel had close ties and cooperated militarily as the Anatolian country was cut off from purchasing Western weapons systems because of human rights abuses connected with its battle with the Kurds, the report noted.

For example, Israel Air Force pilots trained in Turkish airspace and used an air base in Konya province.

But now with the rumors of a rapprochement, defense sources said Ankara is eager to renew military-to-military cooperation.

Many of your so-called indigenous projects (all based on Western designs and with their assistance) contain Israeli parts. Everyone that has a small clue about the arms industry knows about this.

Kanafeh is sweet as well. Just better. Much older too.

BTW I don't care what Turkey does in relation to Israel. What I do care about though is hypocrisy and I know what your likes intend with such nonsense threads.

I skimmed through and saw what I needed to see, Turkey hasn't purchased any new Defence related products from Israel for over 5 years - and is very unlikely to do so as Turkish Defence Industry grows and larger Countries show interest in co-operating with Turkey, like France, Britian and Italy.

So please tell which Israeli part is in which Turkish Defence product. You know, since you have some 'clue' about the arms Industry.

We have Kanafeh here in Turkey but we call it Kadayıf. I don't much care for the cheese in it.

Hmmm, so mean like hypocrisy of Kuwait buying Israeli defence products dispite not having relations with Israel ? Re-think your train-of-thought there pal..

No need to get mad when I speak about certain people specially the ones who openly cheer for israel and not all the gulf people or Saudis

Sure. Keep telling yourself that.

There is a difference between Turkey (most close partner of Israel in the region and a long-established one) and nonsense rumors (at best) like this thread.

Even if we assume that Kuwait bought WESTERN weapons with Israeli parts, it's still not even 0,5% of what Turkey has been doing with Israel.

No need to get mad when I speak about certain people specially the ones who openly cheer for israel and not all the gulf people or Saudis

Not mad. Just stating some facts.

Your comment is nonsense.

1) No such thing as "Gulfies". Iraqis are "Gulfies" too apparently (according to some ignorant Western people who keep calling the Arabian Peninsula and Arab Near East for the "Gulf" for some reason).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_states_of_the_Persian_Gulf

2) Some locals want open ties with Israel here and now but they are in the minority. Once the Palestine-Israel conflict is solved, most people (just a guess, I have no statistics or facts to back this claim up with) would probably not object to mutually beneficial ties. After all we are neighbors and 20% + of the Israeli population is Arab and almost 2/3's of all Israeli Jews are Arab Jews or partially Arab Jews. Including Jews from modern-day KSA (Southern KSA) that migrated to Israel.

3) Locals in the GCC do not make decisions when it comes to foreign policy so if anything you should limit criticism to rulers alone and only those in power.

4) This thread was created by an anti-Arab individual and it is tragicomical that a Turkish user of all people is posting such threads given the ground realities and history.

They are too many to enumerate.. look at the F-4 upgrades, the M-60 tanks upgrades, drones and much much more packed with Usraeli tech.. which is in fact US tech with cheaper prices..

Kuwait has a tiny army, with not many experts.. they just bought the whole system off the shelf from a European company, and it happened that there were some Usraeli component fitted to it..that is in no way a direct buy or even an intentional buy from Usrael.. there is a context to it..
