That is an ambiguous statement. Maybe he means that he regret that Turkey did this or that which lead to their actions.

Of course it didn't succeed in the West Bank, and I personally disagreed with some of their attacks, through those were very few and the majority were justified and many targeted Israeli occupation forces. Hamas responses were not about their leaders only but dozens of other Palestinian civilians being killed and targeted by Israeli bombs.

There was no intifada in 1996 not any 35 killed. It was very calm period. Yet they decided to kill 60 Israelis for 1 Hamas member.
