Since it was introduced at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas, USA in January 2016, numerous organizations chose to relinquish their aging rifles and step up to the AK Alfa assault rifle by Kalashnikov Israel: "If you combine the good old reliable unstoppable engine of the AK rifle with modern-day technology and design, you will get a winning formula," explains Shachar Dagan, VP Sales at Kalashnikov Israel (K-ISR).
The first substantial shipments of the AKL model chambered for the 7.62x39mm caliber have already been delivered to armed forces in Africa and a military organization in the Far East is currently awaiting delivery of several hundred rifles of the same model, expected by mid-2017. A law enforcement agency in the Far East is also awaiting delivery of several hundred AKL rifles chambered for the 5.56x45mm caliber early next year. Additionally, several military, police and security organizations are currently engaged in negotiations over the first orders of various AK Alfa AR and SMG variants by Kalashnikov Israel.
The Israeli-made rifle offers some distinctive advantages. Among other things, it has an improved trigger mechanism with short, crisp trigger reset and over-travel, enabling fast and accurate consecutive firing in semi-auto mode. The rifle includes – as an integral part – an innovatively-designed compensator that significantly reduces muzzle rise and recoil, thereby enabling 'flat' firing – even in full-auto mode. The ergonomically designed ambidextrous controls enable prompt and convenient access and operation. Additionally, four integral Picatinny rails enable mounting of an extensive range of tactical accessories and optics. In fact, we are looking at a whole family of firearm models that correspond with one another, thereby facilitating the entire logistic and economic process for any defense or security organization, before and after any firearm purchase.
